Doesn't sound anything at all like a real brass trumpet. Tell you what, create a blind side by side video of just the audio of a brass trumpet and a plastic trumpet. I, along with all other serious trumpeters, will tell you which is which.

@@trashbag9531 C'mon, you have to have your morning coffee! As for the pTrumpet, it has its uses. But as for sound, it reminds me of a trumpet using a Velvet-Tone mute.

@Box certainly! If you just want to play around, or if it's not your main instrument, or if it's all you can afford. There certainly reasons to go ahead and get it. The truth is, I have a pBone! I'm a trumpet player, but always wanted to tinker on the trombone, but didn't want to pay for a quality one. The plastic one works just fine for my purposes. But I think the original reason for my post was that this video stated that you could not tell the difference. That's a different story.

While I agree that there is a noticeable difference in the tone and timbre, you have to agree that the sound isn't too far off for just being made of plastic. You would think that it would have an entirely different sound but it does have much resemblance to a beginner trumpet you'd buy from Amazon or Walmart

Oh come off it, it sounds 95% of the way to a normal trumpet. And by the way, whether it's a £200 yamaha or a £5,000 Besson, nobody can tell the difference.
