Hey there, just curious how would you rate this IEM if I were to use this IEM with the ambient feature only rather than as IEM, would you say that what you hear from your amp is an accurate reproduction? Reason why I am asking this question is because I am a guitar head tone freak (I can easily spend weeks adjusting the height of the pickup, or weeks messing with the amp's EQ, tube brands, cables, etc... all in order to have that magic tone in my head). Any normal IEM, no matter how expense and how many drivers they have, they will still relay 100% on the signal coming from the amp's mic, which we all know that a slightly mic placement variance can make a big difference in the tone, plus the EQ from the board/sound guy, etc... This solution, seems to take it all out of the equation, meaning what the 3DME IEM ambient mic pick up comes directly from the amp's speaker's bypassing mic/board/sound guy. That is the only way I cold see myself using IEM and unfortunately I will need one soon since some places we play, for some reason gets very loud and I am not getting any younger, but I would like to find a solution with the least amount of compromise on my guitar tone (needless to say I don't believe in digital distortion no matter how expense and technologically "advanced" they are such as Axe FX, Helix, etc...). What would be your thoughts on it? Thanks

Hey Fluff! I was super stoked, when I saw that Dragged Under was confirmed for the new and extended Hellfest-Lineup. Already have my Ticket for the regular weekend and definitely gonna get mine for the extended one. See you guys there! Gonna be a blast!

Any thoughts on how these compare to other tour grade in-ear systems? And I’m assuming you still need to get molds done?
@riccardocuoghi20713 жыл бұрын
The only question. How did you connect that to the mixer?
@GuitarJeff3 жыл бұрын
That's my question too. These say they are blue tooth, however blue tooth has a serious delay issue making them not really useful for live situation, you can be full 2 seconds behind on blue tooth. Then at 700$ your entering into Shure transmitter and receiver combo price ranges. There is no information on drivers, just says full range drivers, what does that mean? Give me a number. I don't know these just seem like super expensive blue tooth ear buds.
@riccardocuoghi20713 жыл бұрын
@@GuitarJeff actually after see the video again I saw the body pack with an input jack. So i think you have to connect to another device and the Bluetooth is only for the mobile app.
@GuitarJeff3 жыл бұрын
@@riccardocuoghi2071 Oh, then that's insanely expensive. Sure it has a blue tooth app but Behringer makes a clip on you connect XLR cable to for like $40 and powers your choice of in ears. My drummer uses these as he doesn't need wireless, he doesn't move around. Then he is just on his own bus from the mixer and gets a personalized mix.

@@GuitarJeff The behringer headphone amp does not have microphones for ambience! Very big difference, different product altogether. This unit does not need a separate mixer or microphones as there are left and right full range mini microphones Embedded in the IEMS It is simply designed to hear everything as your own ears do but at a lower volume or any volume they become your ears. With a limiter and a equalizer Complete protection and still hear everything you need to hear from the monitors and your band members. Also allows an option to run a monitor mix from the house to adjust independently.

Can I connect this to my bass amp so I can hear myself playing and mix in the ambient sound in the room? How does the battery pack connect to my amp and still allow me to fill the room with bass for the rest of the band? This is what I’m not understanding.

Will these work for a musician with severe hearing loss?

So you have to wear two body packs for your IEMs?
@forrestergil2 жыл бұрын
No mention of how you hear the mix from your in-ear system. Do you need to wear two packs? One being your usual receiver from you IN-Ear System (Shure). Then take an 1/8" stereo jack cable, plug that (output or where ya used to plug in your earbuds) into this new 3DME packs input? Then use the 3DME to control your volume and settings?
@TimHeizer2 жыл бұрын
That is correct. You would wear both packs.

So how's the actual driver quality of the earbuds compared to something more traditional like a Shure 425's or Westone Pro X50's? Do you sacrifice actual audio quality to get that room mic feature?
@ThePaulIngram2 жыл бұрын
I've been using them for a few months. Sound great. Problem is that they don't hold a charge at all when powered off and left unplugged. I'm pretty sure the power switch does not bypass the circuit, so if you plan to use them for a gig, you'll want to make sure they are plugged in until no more than a few hours before the gig. Anyone else having this issue?

So does the ASI body pack need to be connected by 1/8 cable to my Shure wireless body pack that works with the band's Shure wireless IM system?
@TimHeizer2 жыл бұрын
Yep. If you are using a wireless pack from for you monitor mix, you would connect that to the ASI pack with the provided 1/8 to 1/8 cable and would wear both packs.

How long does it take to set up two ambient mics and feed them into your in ear mix? Less time than it takes to tune up !!!
@72wicksy2 жыл бұрын
One point that I've seen mentioned is that fixed ambient mics will pick up whatever is going on around those mics no matter where you are in position to them where these built in mic's will pick up exactly what your ears would hear no matter where you are on stage because they are fixed to your head and constantly moving wherever you go. Makes sense.
@redtapemusic2 жыл бұрын
@@72wicksy true, and that is a significant advantage of this system, especially if the mics are phase accurate enough for you to locate the source of a sound. Its a bit of a hassle to have to use two belt packs though, a wireless receiver AND the processor for the earphones is a lot of leads and batteries sitting on your belt!
@RobbDizzl3 жыл бұрын
So you need another belt pack to receive the monitor signal? And 700$ for single driver IEMs? No thanks.

@Jbeland12 жыл бұрын
I wanted to love and buy this as soon as I heard about it. One major setback is that fact that you can’t control the mix like you can with say Iem and a mix app like on the x32. When they figure out how to pair this pack with your wireless transmitter and you can control independent feeds I’m in. But if the room mix sucks for instance you can’t do shit about it.
@TimHeizer2 жыл бұрын
That’s not the purpose of these. You get your mix from the board just like any other IEM. Whether you can control your own mix is dependent on the monitoring system/board being used at the venue. These just let you add ambient sound from the built in mics at what ever level you want.
@JohnFraserFindlay Жыл бұрын
most of the gigs I play the rooms sound like crap.. from a guitar standpoint where you may want to hear your 'real' guitar sound a bit with the ambient mics..also an issue as Im literally standing with the legs against the scab/speakers on tight stages
@LuizFeReis3 жыл бұрын
Now we just need molded ones like these. And that shure /seenheiser create a standardized protocol that allow the mic volume to be controlled without the need of another bodyback hanging with the musician. People will start to look like Batman this way 😂😂
@StickTonesMusic2 жыл бұрын
Sensaphonics, (the parent company to these), though rather expensive, has been making a custom molded version in silicone for years. The app control however is a newer feature, which I believe came out with these non customs from ASI. That said, and integrated body pack would be nice. Sensaphonics seems to be well connected with Shure, so I could see them eventually partnering in this. Also, Audio Technical made their M2 and M3 in ear systems with a LAV style mic input on the body pack for ambience. I would think that, other than the Bluetooth control and connection placement, it wouldn’t be much different of a design.
@LuizFeReis2 жыл бұрын
@@StickTonesMusic yes, it would be awesome. I was thinking now that this could become a bit challenging to the monitor engineer since he is not going to be able to cue a person's mix and hear what they are hearing exactly. So in a metal band example if the guitarrist has a lot of ambience volume on his in ears it would have already a lot of drums there, but for the mix engineer there is just what he is mixing on the console. Anyway, nothing impossible to deal with, just thinking about it 😅
@hungryshark973 жыл бұрын
How about just using unmolded in-ears because they're cheaper and still let you hear your surroundings without the harm causing noise
@LuizFeReis3 жыл бұрын
That's not true. If you are hearing the outside is because you are not fully isolated, and if you are not fully isolated you have to use way higher volumes to hear the mix properly, causing damage to your hearing.
