People like me simply gave up thoughts of ever hearing it again. They had memories, of course. But, it wasn't forgotten by those who knew of it. The strict tempo is the marvellous thing.

It always surprises me when I hear a song that I knew from a 1950s version. And thwn I think: oh, that was not an old song, it was an older song. One from the 30s. Some have been recycled so many times!

Cut 4: It's worth noting that Kenny Sargent played the bari sax lead as well as singing with Casa Loma. He sings here in a much higher register than he typically did.

Thank you for posting, Pax41. This is music that I could enjoy dancing to and that I really like. It makes you want to get dressed up in something long and slinky with a flowing, fluid skirt cut on the bias like those beautiful gowns of the '30's. Oh heck, let's bring back dressing up, and live music, and restaurants and cabarets with these live bands, chorus dancers and taxi dancers for the singles, and love of and spare time for dancing, etc. Am I asking for too much? I don't think so because people might be happier with the changes.

I am going to do a post with that theme Bonnie B! Hope you are well 🙂 and can stand all the crazy stuff going on now. I try to not be political but the current climate reminds me of what Germany experienced in the 1930's. I am sure you know that isn't a good thing.

You can't go wrong by starting out with Arden and Ohman recordings in my opinion. These two guys and their orchestra are one of my all time early 30's orchestras. Their orchestra may well be the closest example to what a Broadway orchestra of this era would have sounded like. Have a wonderful week Gary! 🙂

Pax41 is such a wonderful channel. I discovered it this year, and often dip-in. This selection is a particularly splendid one; gently uplifting. It surely is possible to be nostalgic about the music of one's grandparents' era. Aural honey. That's all, nothing more too add!

I've been in the paramount theater before it was torn down and to hear that organ line would just blow your mind and fill that huge theater with such amazing sound. I actually cried when they tore it down and don't even ask me what happened to me when they tore down the roxy, what an amazing building. I don't believe it would oven torn down today. It was a crime
