Truth aptly spoken. What we have in nigeria is multitudes attending buildings where they read Bible and mention Jesus. Majority are not Christians or truly born again , both clergy and congregation. The emphasis is on gathering crowd and finance, the very thing that Jesus preached against. When He preached a hard truth, and multitudes left , He didn’t try calling them back but even challenged those remaining to leave. But today anything goes as far as it draws in the crowd no matter the condition of their souls or lifestyle. So that we can brag about how big our church is. We forget that Christ said broad is the way and MANY there will be that will find the way to destruction. Beware of MEGAchurches. Even the laodicean church in revelations that bragged about its wealth was considered very poor by Him, He was even not in the church , because He said He was outside knocking to enter. But today wealth is considered the measure of success in ministry. The problem of Nigeria today is the church. Let the church get it right and we will be amazed at the transformation of the country.

I think you are missing the point he is making.... I am sure there are many small churches that are not truly preparing people for heaven, and there are many mega churches that are truly doing God's work... BUT, the truth is many of these mega churches are reducing the gospel to a game of numbers. For many pastors now, increase is all about numbers and not building the people spiritually. The numerical strength of a church is now something to boast of as if that in itself is the main issue with God. At the end of the day the question every pastor will be asked by God is. - HOW MANY OF THE PEOPLE THAT CAME TO YOUR CHURCH DID YOU BRING ALONG TO HEAVEN ? That means a pastor that had a congregation of 1million members and was therefore considered a great success here on earth will be viewed as a woeful failure by God, if only 100,000 of those one million souls eventually made heaven. On the other hand, another pastor having only 500 people in his church would have been considered mediocre by men, but of he poured into them.and mentored them closely to the point that like Jesus he loses only one of them to the enemy, and he can present 499 of them to Jesus on the last day, he will be a hero in heaven. Numbers are good, and we must do all to get unbelievers saved through evangelism, BUT we must be as passionate about PROPER DISCIPLESHIP of these people once they come into church. What often happens is that pastors do not want to preach 'HARD MESSAGES' to these mixed multitude when they come to church, for fear of losing members. So you find that unbelievers come into church, and stay for years without coming in contact with the FIRE of God's Word and Holy Spirit , so there is no genuine REPENTANCE, and consequent TRANSFORMATION . That is why Nigeria has so many pentecostal churches, so many so called born again Christians, YET we are not making positive impact in our society. Nigeria should be one of the best countries spiritually, socially, politically and econmically if all we pentecostals were really walking in righteousness and holiness. But most Christians are no different from the unbelievers in the market place, business environment and political arena. May the Lord come and purge His Church with Fire and bring true REVIVAL before Christ returns

Please these megachurches started well but are now becoming more world dominion conscious . In other words they are preparing people to succeed and prosper in this life as if we shall be here on earth forever AND are not doing too much of a good job in preparing people to be raptured or to make it to heaven .Jesus is showing to an increasing number of people that most megachurches together with their pastors will be left behind when the rapture occurs . A lot are in danger of going to hellfire . The focus is more on the world than in heaven. The love of the things of this world has gripped most of them in their hearts. God is allowing them to have the things of this world because that is what they crave for . Where your heart is , there also shall your treasure be .
