I´m just thinking over this conflict and comparing it with war in Ukraine. I wonder, why there are still no bomb shelters in Gaza strip ? So long time passed, so much aid given to Gaza. Responsibility on protection of its own people rests on goverment. Definitely principle of proportionality in war should be applied. However, possibility of speculation on this matter should not be removed from agenda. There was very harsh reaction in Ukraine, when few bomb shelters appeared to be locked and not ready. So at the end, low civilian casualty rate becoming weak point of the side being attacked. I´m still not sure if my reflections are correct. @@attajacob

I view reporters like Amanpour as collaborators. Gaza has been on Netanyahu's "diet" for sixteen years. Gazans and the people in the West Bank have been living under horrendous conditions for a very long time. Hamas built an underground city, about 200-300 km (London Underground is 400km) with numerous halls, offices, barracks, facilities, storage hangars, multiple levels, food, fuel, water... This also points out a bit of "word play" in some of what I've heard from Israel. Israel likes to think of this area as not a "refugee camp" because of the nature of the settlements. That is the wrong math. The settlements are as livable as they are to make life for those living with refugee status less of a trauma. When the Tribes lived in tabernacles, were they refugees? But what were they in Captivity -- living in mansions? They are refugees because they have refugee status not because of the kind of homes they have. Israel should do well to understand this line better.
