I’ve been trialing these for about 2 weeks now and have gone to parties, restaurants, bars, a 20 hour flight, and a very loud open office. I have to say that the spheric mode is amazing and for the first time in a very long time, I can easily hear people in loud environments. The battery life has been a point of discussion but when I’m not using spheric mode, I wear from about 8-mid night and they still have 60% battery. Add about 3-4 hours of sphere being activated and I’m finishing the day at 40-50%. I really didn’t think these would be that good but I’ve been blown away with them. They’re not perfect by any means and the non sphere modes have the same issues as every other HA but for the sphere mode alone, I think these are worth it and I’m replacing my oticons with them.

I've been wearing for about a month. Same experience with battery life. 5:30 am to 10:30 pm and still only down to 62-65% (I check every night) My days are quite working at home but very noisy start each day from 6-7:30 in a loud coffee shop where I know my sphere is going into noise reduction mode.

I got the Oticon Intent 2 months ago. Those replaced Oticon OPN-S. I had to return the Intent because I had 2 receivers fail in a month. I got my Phonak Sphere’s a couple weeks ago. Best hearing aids I have used by a long shot. But they do have a few issues. Biggest complaint is background noise complaints from folks I am talking to. However, these are so good in other ways that I bought the Rogers device

I'm currently trial wearing these aids....90% positive experience so far. The one big hiccup I noticed is that the location function, in the app, was killing the battery of my iPhone 14. So much so, that I had to turn it off or risk my phone dying before the end of the day.

Matthew, Yours reviews are terrific. My wife has had the new Phonak Spheres for a month now. They are extremely comfortable. The technology is off the charts. She just leaves them in auto select mode, they run all day and work perfectly. Our Audiologist has not turned them up to full prescription as yet. That happens next week. Terrific quality and tech!

I've been wearing for about a month. I thought battery life was going to be an issue. Not so. 5:30 am to 10:30 pm and still only down to 62-65% (I check every night). My days are quiet working at home but very noisy start each day from 6:00-7:30 in a loud coffee shop where I know my sphere is going into noise reduction mode. And I use my phone (through hearing aids) for calls during the day. I probably stream videos an hour each day. With all that, I end up at night after wearing for 17 straight hours ( no 20 min quick charge during the day like i had to do with my Lumity R90s) and battery is still at aroumd 65%. I'm impressed and greatly pleased!

I sing with a Barbershop chorus, and with my current 4-year old aids, I have trouble with pitch, sometimes harmonics dominate my hearing over the primary tone I need to hear, and with hearing the accompanying vocal parts over my own voice. Do any of the technologies or capabilities better address this issue than another?

I'm surprised you haven't mentioned one of the biggest advantages of the new Sphere hearing aids. I've been wearing the Phonak Infinio Sphere I90's for the last three days. On days where you don't need the Spheric noise reduction program, the battery life is incredible. With 16-17 hours of use, 3-4 hours of streaming per day and no use of the Spheric noise program, I am ending the day with 60%-65% battery life still available. My estimate is that the battery will go 30+ hours on quiet days. This is a huge improvement.

As another Spheric user mentioned, the battery life of these is incredible. In a quiet environment I would estimate 30% better than Lumity R. Even when using the Spheric mode for 7 hours at our state fair, Spheric had more battery life left than Lumity would have at day's end.

Hi Matthew, just subscribed after finding your videos and the excellent content you share with us all. I have worn HA’s for over 15 years, my current ones being the CIC Signia Silk 5 which have been fine (being vain I wanted the very discreet type). However, after four years one went to the HA scrap yard and is currently being replaced, also I felt that I was starting to struggle with them , my wife tells me if I am saying ‘pardon’ or try to outguess the answer to a question etc This tempted me to look at what new technology is out there and my Audiologist recommended the Phonak Audeo Infinio Sphere i90. Whilst this is a ‘step backwards’ for me re my vanity, I have placed an order for them which I am hoping to receive within the next week, so hopefully great hearing days await me. I am enthused by the positive comments from your channel and will be happy to share my own experiences once I have worn them for a while. Thanks for the great work, appreciated. Paul🇬🇧

Hi Matthew, As promised, I would like to share my first weeks experiences since having my new Phonak Audeo Infinio Spheres i90’s fitted on Friday 25th October 2024. Nb I bought these from a well known high street company and saved £1000 v my usual independant audiologist. Sadly, after three return visits for adjustments’ the Infinio’s are not doing a thing for me🥲 My initial set up left me having to turn up the tv so basically no change whatsoever to my hearing at this point. I contacted the company and was given an appointment to see their audiologist (a different one to my first) whilst there she told me she and her colleague had never sold or had anything to do with these Hearing Aids as they don’t normally sell branded products? At my third appointment she told me these are brand new to the market They are waiting for training from the Phonak rep. Ok, during the first week of wearing, other than the tv volume episode nothing of note other than a feeling of being underwhelmed. However, on Thursday of last week whilst shopping at the Designer Outlet in York with my wife and eldest grandson, we sat down for a coffee, suddenly my head was booming with conversations around me, so much so I could hear these conversations in detail as well as speaking with my wife and grandson! During the next 4/5 hours I became nauseous along with a thumping headache which was still there on the Saturday morning. A similar situation occurred whilst at a theatre show on Friday night. I have ceased wearing them and gone back to my Silk 5’s whilst awaiting news (if any) from the Phonak Rep. Could all of this be down to lack of set up knowledge / experience 😢or am I a ‘special case’?😢 I would appreciate your thoughts.🙏 Sorry for the war and peace . Paul 🇬🇧

@@paulmackintosh9964 Hi Paul, hope don't mind me jumping in here. Yesterday I visited the "other" UK high street store that is £1000 more than the one you visited. This morning I have been Googling the difference between these two stores, as I too saw that £1000 difference in price. For these aids, I think you have answered the question. I have used, ok I'll use names now, Specsavers with my previous to current HA's, and I must say that audiologist seemed pretty good to me. I think some of the price difference comes with the after care. On visting Boots yesterday, I realised that they would still do adjustments on HA's purchased from them, prior to my Specsavers ones, even though they were well past their 4 year warranty. A similar question to Specsavers, (on old HA's also outside warranty), brought the reply of maybe, depends on the audiologist. My experience of the Spheres from a trial yesterday was very positive. Cheers Ian

Audiologist here with a quick question. It's nice to see that the Infinio Sphere and Intent had the highest performance for speech-in-noise in the HearAdvisor tests, which has been my experience in fitting my patients; I'm just wondering whether they tested the ReSound Nexia, as it's the one major manufacturer's product that's not listed there. Thanks, and keep up the good work.

Thanks for this very helpful video. I have mild/moderate hearing loss and my Audiologist (you know... the "one I should have gone to..!") recommends either the GN ReSound Nexia 9 or Phonak Infinio Sphere 90 to replace my existing 9 year old RIC Phonaks. My biggest bug-bear is the handling of music. I love 'good music' and am a singer (amateur choir and soloist) needing aids that don't get in the way of hearing both my voice and what is going on around me (without being flooded by the latter). Is one of these going to handle music better than the other, or am I going to have to consult an audiologist with access to a wider range (and spend more)?

I have been tested by 2 of the big UK chains one says I need HAs the other says not🤔 so am waiting for NHS test. Having looked into this world for the first time I am completely shocked by the prices and also the premium charged by the big high street sellers (one if which is owned by same company as Phonak so you would think they could do a deal!) compared to on-line (£1,500 difference 😮). My question is are these high-end HAs so complex to programme that it is worth paying premium or do you get the same benefits sending audiology report to online provider?

It’s hard to convey how important the role of an audiologist is in the setup process. Hi, I just been advised that I need to start using hearing aids, although to be honest I've known that for a few years. Due to vanity issues I was looking to use the "in the ear" type aids, however my audiologist recommended the "receiver in the canal" type saying that they have more functionality and more robust. He said that I had to go with the Phonak hearing aids as I had an Android phone and that doesn't support Oticon hearing aids, which I'm not too bothered about. However, my question is do the "in the ear" type have the same functionality as the "receiver in the canal" type and are there any reasons I couldn't have the "in the ear" type?

Good Morning. Ive been wearing The Spheres (I90) for a week now and I have to say that they do very well in the speech in background noise ratio. I've only had experience with the Phonack Lumity and the Oticon intents to compare. However in the speech in background noise ratio, as I was able to hear everyone at my table (9 people) I had to concentrate. I did not experience the "Sphere" effect which they boast about and I did not feel that it was a mind blowing effect which Ive seen in your other video when they were launching them. Is it possible that it's a programing issue and if so what setting needs to be set to have this effect? Hi Matthew, excellent video, thanks. I am wearing Widex Moment 440's, two and a half years old. With them, music - brilliant, my voice - brilliant, wind noise suppression - rubbish, noisy environment - rubbish. I fully understand that any aid and its capabilities are only as good as the audiologist setting them up, and after three pairs of top of the range HA's in 9 years, I am a bit sceptical that any HA can provide what the manufacturers say they can. I did hear about these new Phonak HA's, so thought I would seek out my local, (I'm UK based), leading brand store, you know the one that pushes Phonak 🤔 I went on a trial walk around town and found them very comfortable, and when hitting that spot where the wind whips between buildings, found they handled the noise extremely well. I found general noise to be quieter than what I am used to with my Widex, but noticed as other shoppers walked out of stores, as they started to talk, I could hear them. The general sound was very pleasant although my voice sounded slightly different to what I am used to. I plan to get some of these on the companies 90 day trial Hope that helps Ian

Hello, I follow your great videos with great joy. I am Hard of hearing and lipread (which should be called face reading); I also use your captions. Now, reading captions with your arm and hand movement behind the words decreases my ability to read them, and I find it generally offputting. Please keep the videos coming, Cheers, Philip

I have a severe to profound hearing loss, and as an american, i find it challenging to understand most people with an accent other than my own. However you are extremely eloquent, and your speech is very clear and understandable, your speech is incredibly easy for me to keep up with. Thank you for making this video 😊

Have these on trial at the moment but find they seem to drop the connection from time to time Also find the streaming via Bluetooth is not very clear, can this be addressed? Disappointed that there is no telecoil as I do front of house at our local theatre. How do these compare with the latest Oticon?

Hi Matthew, Appreciate this follow-up review. Thank you. I have single-sided hearing loss. CROS set-up doesn't meet my needs in dealing with background noise. (Surrounding background noise entering good ear (e.g. noisy cooker fan) overcomes sound coming in from CROS transmitters) What do you think about putting the Infinio Sphere HA with closed dome in the good/perfect hearing ear, only for situation where I have to deal with conversation in noisy background noise situations (bar, restaurant, noisy traffic road, rumbling train or elevator etc.); situations which are easy to anticipate in advance? Would this work? Is adding Active-Vent required too to make this work?

So far battery life not an issue in daily life but wait for the CES test in January. A whole day & night in noise will put them to the test. Forced on Sphere mode and set them on my desk. Battery lasted 7:30 hours. So a long, noisy day may be an issue. Stay tuned...

Those hearing aids are 7800.00 $can here in Edmonton. That is double the cost of the Jabra and Phillips models at Costco. My concern is : Are they worth double the price?
@TheLuftguy
@TheLuftguy 2 ай бұрын
I expect it depends on your hearing needs. I just went from Costco Resound hearing aids to this hearing aid. I hear much better. For me it is well worth the cost. What’s more, I heard that Costco hearing aids, including Jabra, are OTC (over the counter). Something to consider if you need Rx hearing aids.

I'm going from Costco aids to these. Is it worth money to hear in public spaces? For me the answer is yes. Before these aids, the answer was no, go to Costco, IMO. The Costco aids had similar tech and nobody had great speech in noise handling. But these aids are a revolution and worth the extra to hear in loud places.

I spoke to my audiologist about these hearing aids. My question is how well will they work if I wear headphones to listen to music and watch TV. He said because of the size they wouldn't fit inside the headphones. May in the future they will be able to implement the technology in other CIC hearing aids, etc. Nice over thank you.

I use a TV connector and stream TV audio directly into my HA. You can do the same thing with music. And since your HA are amplifying according to your prescription the sound should be better than head phones.

I won't even try them until they have disposable batteries. you just don't know when you won't be able to recharge, and I need them to be reliable. If the cost was manageable, a second set would suffice, but that's not an option. I wish the industry would listen to this feedback.

Thanks for another great video, Matthew! My hot takes... Please let your Phonak friends know that there is still a significant block of users who are firmly on Team Disposable, so the slow release of those models only makes me want to look at alternate manufacturers instead. Similarly, until Auracast actually rolls out, t-coils are still a priority for some...particularly those of us who attend a lot of live theatre at looped venues. So that's 2 strikes for me on the latest line, as much as I'd appreciate many of the other updated features.

I just cannot understand why they still talking about a receiver while it is a speaker that produces the sound into your ear.
@HearingTracker
@HearingTracker Ай бұрын
Hey Klass, great point. It's the history of the tech... In hearing aids, the term "receiver" actually refers to the component that converts electrical signals back into sound, which is then delivered into the ear. This part is often housed at the end of the wire in receiver-in-the-canal (RIC) hearing aids, which are quite popular today. The term "receiver" comes from older audio technology terminology, where it described the part of a telephone that converted electrical signals into sound. In hearing aids, the same principle applies: the receiver is responsible for creating the audible sound that the user hears. The wire itself connects the main body of the hearing aid, which houses the microphone, amplifier, and processor, to the receiver, which is typically located closer to the ear canal. So, while people might casually refer to the wires as "receivers," it’s technically the component at the end of the wire that holds this designation.

Hey Karen, great question. I’d visit an independent audiologist and they’ll be able to assess if they suit your hearing loss and challenges. They are rechargeable yes, however as outlined here were concerns at one point (now I don’t have them any longer) that they wouldn’t last a full day. Thanks for watching, Matthew

Once again Phonak will not allow single side deafness individuals to buy this product. So, I would love to see a review on the Infinio with a CROS. What's the battery life expectation and does it come with a smart charger? The other review I would love to see is a comparison between the Infinio versus an Intent 1 CROS review. There are a lot of people on Facebook looking for this comparison, as they know Phonak took the Sphere option off the table for CROS users. Thanks much!!

I just ordered these today and that was a key issue for me. I was told that, just like the Luminity Life, they come with a charger that has its own built-in battery. It stores two additional charges. That's a big deal for me because I swear I live in the power outage capital of the world. Power is always out for one reason or another, and then my hearing aids don't charge. This will be a game changer.

These sound wonderful but one thing that has not been mentioned. My audiologist said if the batteries on my current rechargeable Oticon aids had to be replaced it is possible for her to order the batteries and change them in her office. With these new Phonack aids, the batteries, should they ever fail, can only be changed by the manufacturer. The cost is $400, each!! Something to keep in mind. Also I am wondering how well the Phonic app works - the Oticon app totally sucks!

I agree with the other commenter that the app works great! I trialed Oiticons for a little over a month while waiting for the Audeo Spheres trial aids to arrive. The game changer with me is how well they work with my android phone (Google Pixel 7). The transition to my car speakers, playing podcasts and displaying upcoming podcasts on my car's infotainment screen is seamless. Only one down side for me was the size, but it is function over form for me!

I was supplied with my first and only ever pair of hearing aids, Phonak ones, three years ago. They are not just useless: they are worse than useless. Apart from being uncomfortable to wear after a couple of hours, I have to take them out if someone is speaking to me. They function more like ear-plugs than hearing aids.

You also have to do your part and let them know what's wrong, and keep after them, especially on a trial. If they won't adjust them to make them work for you, find somewhere else. I have had bad ones, and some good ones and one great one, but because of the deal they had with the Military, I could only get the bottom of the line Oticon, and she did everything she could to get them to do everything I wanted, but just couldn't do it, and unfortunately they only dealt with Oticon, they said the deal with all of them, but they would never bring in anything else. So I found someone else. When you find a good fitter who really knows their stuff, the hearing aids can really make a difference. Don't give UP!

@@sheldons231 Thanks. Mine were supplied free here in the UK by our National Health Service. Soon after I got them, I called to tell them they weren't helping me, so they said I would have to have a "refit and agjustment". For that, there is a two-year waiting list. That was exactly two years ago. I phoned them a couple of weeks ago and they said I will probably be seen some time between November 2024 and June 2025.

I have been trialing these for the past two weeks and I'm underwhelmed. Speech intelligibility is not as good as the Signia Pure Charge & Go IX (fire the entire marketing/naming dept!) that I tried. Bluetooth connectivity is spottier than my previous Audéo Paradise. And an afternoon I spent on a farm with the bin dryers running, necessitating I use the Sphere, had me recharging them in the evening to last the day. They're better than the Nexias I tried. Trying the Intents next week.
