I just want to thank u Dr. for that video. My name is Francine P. and i was diagnosed with Chronic Congested Heart Failure this year. And my Heart is pumping only 15%. I've got rush to Stanford Hospital and they saved my life. Now i'm doing good and living with my condition. The main KEY is STICKING to my NO SODIUM DIET and TAKING my MEDS. EVERY DAY and ON TIME. Excellent, thank you. An international footballer collapsed on the pitch in 2020. His team mates were terrified that he had died. It was heart failure. He recovered and is back playing again. Your video helps explain some of the background to this.

So well explained. I am 48, non smoker non drinker and diagnosed with heart failure (both Left and right ventricle affected). Seems it has gone on 2 years and treated for worsening asthma until i was rushed to hospital a month ago.

I just discovered you two weeks ago. In September 2021 I was diagnosed with heart failure, my nephew saved my life when he found my EF of 20-25% and immediately took me to ER. I got the heart failure as a reaction to covit vaccine. Now my EF is better, I am on medication (4 kind of drugs). I have a healthy lifestyle, for years I am on intermittent fasting, now mostly OMAD. Some blame the fasting.... I would greatly appreciate if you go deeper in treatments, drugs, supplements, etc...

You don't mention why the kidneys react as they do?

As a reaction with reduced blood flow to your kidney will activate RAAS system (kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIe4lnaCqZtrf80) to make your circulating volume up and constrict your blood vessels. Now, your failing heart just have to work harder to overcome with increased volume and tighter blood vessel.

That's why the meds/diet for heart failure are mostly related to counteract the effect of RAAS system: ACEI, ARBS, low sodium diet, lesser fluid intake, etc. And at the same time, these medications can cause injury to your kidneys. So must must have regular kidney blood works so proper adjustments can be made.

That's called orthopnea and it can be an indication your heart failure is worsening. If you need more pillows to prop you up or you have to sleep in your recliner it's not a good sign
