Yeah he certainly is an underrated guitarist..... after he was dismissed from the band I pretty much lost interest in Heart... they did that album "BeBe La Strange" without him which wasn't that bad considering he wasn't on it but after that their music started going downhill with me they were doing all those love ballad songs in the 80's which I just could never get into...

That original incarnation was one of the greatest bands for sure, totally underrated. I wish the 80s version had stayed the course, but I totally understand why they didn't and I would have done the same thing if I had been in their place. But Heart peaked in 1978 with this tour and has never been as good since. Ann, though, has continued to be the best female rock vocalist ever even if their material has suffered.

300dpi standard from 1971. Sony U-matic This is the best it will be. Up sample via computer possible but this is as it was taped in 1978. 300dpi on a 1969 standard U-matic pro video tape machine. Capitol Centre had a cutting edge multi-camera setup, control room, and 4 massive projectors showing it on 4 screens that hung over center court or the floor seats. Supposedly live only to the building but clearly the technicians had the common sense to run a tape for many shows. Pre-Betamax and VHS so likely pro grade U-matics. They had to run ads and promos for Caps and Bullets, so had to be able to play from a video tape machine. One set of cables would enable recording of the output feed from production desk. Lack of info suggests these uploads are all from technicians and producers, or someone who knew them and they aren't talking. No one wants to admit they took the tapes, likely as it is illegal, copyright strikes, not what bands or managers allowed. We are glad these folks taped the shows so we can see them later. I was at many shows at Cap Centre in 70s and 80s.

I have seen Heart multiple times over the course of my life, still believe their best was in their early years up until the mid to late 80's, maybe even early 90's. Have been a fan all of my life starting when they released their debut album Dreamboat Annie, Little Queen was also quite good, the early year acoustical arrangements were top notch! These ladies now in their 60's & 70's can still rock it & kick ass, they belong & deserve to be in the R&R hall of fame! The hall should be honored to have them in it. LOVE HEART!

My mother told me to come here and give The Love Monge-er, Heart some love. So here I am! Supporting the sisters, and JPJ! Actually, what she told me was: “Herbie!!! Time travel is possible! I went to this HEART concert in 1978 with your dad 2 months after we were married, and a year and a half before you were born! When you have time, grab some popcorn and have a date night right at home. Please watch this whole concert. It was a bootleg VHS tape lol. Go there and give it a thumbs up or I will hit you over the head with a drum stick! j/k. You would make my day if you left a comment at this site. It is underappreciated and doesn't have enough views. This is the happiest I have been in years. It was one of the happiest years of my life! Except that incarnation was starting to tank before it broke up. Hindsight is 20/20, but the original Heart band's albums were faltering which is ultimately why they were fired. It was a great incarnation of that band, but like almost every band except The Stones it ran it's course.

I don't like all of Heart's 80s/90s material but for my money I'll take "Alone", "If Looks Could Kill", and "Who Will You Run To" over "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing", "Dude Looks Like a Lady", and "Angel" any day of the week.

This was just a month and a half before their legendary New Years Eve concert in their hometown (and mine), Seattle. Three nights with Head East and... well Google says Sammy Hagar, but I don't remember him being there. But I've never forgotten Heart's performance. The song that sticks with me the most is Mistral Wind, with DeRosier playing the chimes. It was awesome.

Their hometown of Seattle?? Aren't they from Canada?? I seem to remember Anne Wilson mentioning Canada in an interview back in the day. Great band though, even if they were from Mars they still kick-ass!

Love what the Wilson sisters have done for females in the Music Industry and their song writing is killer. But for me, this band line-up was their best. I wish they could have lasted longer...

Thank you for sharing this! As a musician and martial arts master, I know the 'hard work' it takes to be the one of the best. The Wilson sisters, along with their original line-up, inspired me to be my best! This concert captures Heart at its finest! Mind you, they STILL rock now in their 60's, but nothing beats this! Thanks again from Chicago.

They played my city the year before this show, a day concert in Boston, they had a few bands but heart was the reason I went, Rock-'n'-roll is a macho kinda thing, the fact that these two girls made music like this was amazing, it was that era, girls were overlooked or labeled, they were amazing that day. Thank you

I stumbled upon this dynamic concert, looking to find a good version of Mistral Wind. Found of course, or else I wouldn't be writing this. Well, I can't stop watching every like, every weekend, I have to have a shot. Of this older Heart. LOVE them young or old. Saw them at this stage in their career, 4 months before this date in Dallas. Texxas Jam '78.

+Jeanie C Jones couldn't agree with ya more....love Heart from 'Dreamboat Annie' to 'Fanatic'. Mistral Wind is the tune that did it for me...turned me into a Heartmonger for life. Ever hear any of Ann's solo CD-'Hope and Glory'? Should have been a much bigger hit than it was. Sure not to hear any of it on rock(?) radio this day and age. Bugged my local 'alternative' NPR station enough tiill they started playing some cuts off of it occasionally. F-ing pisses me off when there is still some great rock and roll being laid down, but gets little airplay. Maybe I shouldn't worry about radio airplay, Billboard charts, ect....and just love Heart whether anyone else listens to them or not. Again, frustrates me though when I know about some great music that I know a lot of folks would love as well if they could get a chance to hear it.

No on 'Hope & Glory' only recently heard segments -I'm not understanding either, what has become of our present day radio play. It seems that my found best is Sirius FM. 0k then, seriously on Sirius, shouldn't they have an all Heart station there, like their all Pink Floyd station? Being the music industry & broadcasting has changed so drastically in the past 25 years, only the curious seekers will know, until a new wave of change comes as it always does.

Heart's 1980, 1982, 1983 and 1993 albums all had very good songs that did not get heard by most people. I too always felt more people would have loved Heart if they got exposed to their music in particular females from 1990-2002 who were drowning in rap hags and dance molls with zero talent. Heart getting back into the media starting with Behind The Music With Heart and other quality media exposure was the beginning of the renown they have now with newer generations.
