***** lol if a tiger mauls you it's for 1 of 2 reasons, either it's hungry and you're dinner or you're buggin it somehow. that's interesting though, I only played starcraft and the expansion called brood war but what I got from the storyline was that the zerg were evil. personally that didn't stop me from havin the zerg as my favorite playable race, I think genetic monstrosities are cool. I always liked watching monster movies, makin em was even better.

Not to mention all friends he lost in the battles on Char to save her. The victory of that day for him was getting her humanity back. To see her like that willingly felt like those lives lost were for nothing. Took him a while to figure out it was the only way... he must have realized that the warnings Zeratul gave him needed her at her most powerful.

Zergs are actually beasts, animals, with their primal needs and organic reproduction. Their actions are forgiveable. Mutation and evolution are their way of life condition enhancement. Although they don't posess any kind of technologiacal weapons, they have learned to use the perfect devices. Their organisms. Fascinating, really! That is why they are my favoirite race!

Javierz Pinto Morales Zerg has a different philosophy of good-evil. To them, one consume another so that the winner absorb the fallen's essence to grow stronger than both is a natural thing. And that process has to keep going because remaining idle means destruction. It's a very one dimensional evolution theory but it's not evil, just cruel.

also a ton of the lore/backstory that ties HotS with WoL, SC1 and Brood War doesnt happen directly though the normal cutscenes but rather the player-initiated dialogue scenes with the characters aboard the Leviathan, thats where you find out most of the stuff about Amon and his origins/creations/influence etc

When Tassadar claimed he had never tasted death, it was more symbolic than literal. It basically meant that Tassadar considered death as a complete end to one's self... but to him, he did not die, he merely rejoined the Khala.

She's an Anti-Hero, in case you don't know what Tvtropes is, it's a hero with villian-like tendencies. You might be asking "how is that different from before" well she still basically wants to kill Mengsk but she takes the long route so people-Protoss, Terrans alike- don't dies as much as they used to. That, and she took pains not to kill civilians or the like unlike before.

for deaths by kerrigan, it was Arcturus' decision to not rescue her, he is responsible for her original incarnation as the Queen of Blades in the original SC1/Brood War, hence the falling-out between him and Jim, jim wanted to save her but Arcturus said "nope" and so she got taken by the zerg/infected, she was under the influence of the Overmind, but she isnt in HotS thus displays some compassion/understanding despite wanting revenge on Mengsk, she wanst pure-evil like she was under the Overmind

the lore from WoL and HotS does fit in rather seamlessly with SC1/BW, explans many things that werent very clear or known in SC1/BW but were likely part of the lore even then, also helps make sense of the original QoB Kerrigan/Overmind, the Overmind in SC1/BW was little known of its origins, all you knew is it was a Xel'naga creation like the Protoss as a race, in HotS you find out its true origins and how it enslaved most of the Primal Zerg after Amon made it in order to bind them to his will

the Overmind officially died by the end of SC1 Brood War, but Kerrigan wasnt purged of the "darkness" so to speak till the end of Wings of Liberty if you followed the story and dialogue scenes in Heart of the Swarm it makes perfect sense, evne kerrigan hersself claims to remember an imposing dakrness as the former queen of blades under the Overmind, which was Amon's evil influence upon her, and Amon is very evil and seeks destruction of all things essentially

You're probably the only person who thinks Raynor never loved Kerrigan. Kerrigan specifically chose Raynor to call out to from the Chrysalis with whatever humanity she had left. Raynor led an entire fleet of soldiers to Char to save her. And when he saw what she became, and knew it wasn't truly her, but a corruption... he swore to spare her this pain and put her down. He loved her. It doesn't need to be said in some pre-mission briefing room for it to be true.

No, Kerrigan's power was always being a psychic. She's the most powerful human psychic there is. When she went through the Ghost Academy, they implanted a chip in her head to weaken her abilities. When she became the Queen, one of the first missions in the first game was to remove the chip. And Tassadar IS dead. He spoke to Zeratul through the psi energy of the Overmind's corpse, as a lasting impression from the moment of his death when Tassadar connected with the Overmind for a split second.

from last comment. even when the terrain, zerg and protoss defeat amon it doesnt mean it will fix the bloodshed these 3 factions had in the past so they will be on neutral terms. like each has there own sector as long the other faction dont come to invade, colonize or take resources. if they attempt this (which will either by illegal trading, mercenaries. ship lost cordinates and come to these sectors then there will be minor or high hostility between them.

All in all, did they pull off a better game (and story) than WoL? Yes, they did. Was I satisfied at the end? Yes. Far from the near-perfect game it could have been, but still AWESOME. Jim Raynor is the man, always was - ever since I met him, driving around in his Vulture, on Chau Sara...:) Since I started playing SC, as a fifth grader, I'm attached to it. And no matter how cheesy, the end almost made me cry. It really touched me. I'll never stop loving this franchise :)

In SC1 Kerrigan was infested, her entire personality was changed. mengsk never escaped from her, she let him leave so he could live in fear of her until she got bored and killed him. She was doing the same to Zeratul. Sarah Kerrigan and the Queen of Blades are both based from the same personality but with diferent priorities and perspectives. As for the relationship, there's months in between missions we never got to see. There wasn't room to show everything.

Actually, looking at your back and forth trade of arguments reminds me of another concept from Flashpoint. While Jim saw Sarah and the Queen of Blades as two different entities, Sarah herself was not so sure. Being Queen of Blades for so long ultimately ingrained itself into her personality to the point where the line between Sarah and the Queen of Blades had blurred. To Sarah, she was responsible for all of it--to her, there was no difference. She killed as Sarah, and as the Queen of Blades.

Lavros, they touched upon all the topics of Starcraft 2 in a "mysterious" way. Even in SC1 Original, the overmind touches upon some Xel'Naga subjects. in BW they touch a bit upon these things (even the secret level when Duran talks to Zeratul about hybrids). But it was so cool that they left it as a mystery and made it sounds so powerful...now they'll have the guys actually be a 'god' who is gonna be brought back from the dead wtf...and kerrigan will prolly end up killing him/her/it

Also interesting point : Arcturus Mengsk loathed fathers idea of struggle against Confederacy "which would involve killing people". Plus, had decent dreams of his own. Still I will comeback to look at this video, since it is very moving. Forgot to mention: I love also the part where Raynor spares Kerrigan and her willingness to submit to his judgement, whether she should live or not. Thanks for the upload. And sorry for any grammar mistakes if there are any. I'm not a native English speaker.

I am pretty sure, that the protoss and zerg are becomming allies too. At least Kerrigan and Zeratul. He helped her to gain power and she says that their enemy "waits in the void". Reminds me of "call of the void". I caould also imagine a 4th race. (hybrids) I think they would be quite intresting to play. Maybe kind of all three races kombined.

It's not truly anti-gravity powers... Her floating away at the end of HOTS was zerg exodus. This is how Zerg travel. It leaves them completely undefended while they do this, but the entire Swarm lifts up off the planet and hibernates during warpsleep to the next target.

Kerrigan in the beginning when the Dominion attacked was afraid that Jim would have been left behind just like she was at New Gettysburg.
