I made both, The sewing machine cover and the mat this weekend. I made my mat a little larger so my machine doesn't cover up all the Hard work that went into making the hearts. Everything came out so pretty. I was going to share a photo with you Debbie, but I guess you can not do that here. Thanks again for the great instructions! Cheers

I think it is much easier to sew your underneath fabric onto your face fabric by sewing around the heart, using a glue spray or stabilizer if you wish, but not necessary. Then separate the two fabrics of a heart by pulling out on the front fabric with one hand and the back fabric with your other hand. Cut out the front fabric heart with small sharp scissors, careful not to cut the back fabric, follow the heart shape. Then machine sew a blanket stitch, zigzag or a fancy stitch of your choice, or hand sew to complete the appliqué. A very cute project! Thanks for sharing!

Do you have an instructional video for the board (it is cream w/ cat fabric) you are using to iron down the hearts on around minute 6 to 8? That board would be so helpful to not have to set up the big ironing board just for a few minutes of intricate work. It is a handy size for this. Thank you! Lorilyn

Awesome tutorial Debbie, Question: I always do a miter ending on the binding so you can't tell where I began or ended on almost everything I make. Is their a reason that you finish off with a straight edge on you binding? And don't you find that point quite bulky when you hand stitch the binding on? Thanks again for all you tutorials! Cheryl
@debbieshore8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Cheryl, just trying to keep it simple, It does leave it a bit bulky so I'll be mitring from now on!
