Heart sang this live infront of Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Centre in December 2012. Worth checking out on You Tube. An emotional Robert Plant can be seen. That performance by Heart differs from this, because they use a choir and Ann's voice has changed alot since this 70s version.
@raic47959 жыл бұрын
Sam Toucan I agree her voice has changed a lot, for the better in some parts, particularly towards the end
@contact1araya6 жыл бұрын
I saw it and some Ahole commented how they "ruined" the song, made me so mad...she brought Plant to tears and John Paul Jones and Page couldn't refrain from smiling and cussing, even with Obama right there. They played the best version of the song with the exception of the original.
@ankushs64486 жыл бұрын
I like Heart's rendition, particularly Ann Wilson's part and I definitely don't buy into that version of events either, araya. But even though it's apocryphal I just wanna say I like the idea of Led Zeppelin rubbishing it... I think Jimmy Page is the one person who can look at any guitarist in the world and smile. I've seen Steve Vai do a version of Stairway and it has none of the impact of the original solo, or the one in Madison Sqr Gardens. I feel like they're in a league of their own that I can't imagine. Heart also has that... Celine Dion and others tried singing stuff like "alone"... pssssshhhh
