I noticed when I moved my caladium into full sun, it looks washed out so I moved it back into partial shade. Is that normal?

That can definitely happen as those top leaves (the canopy) are not used to that amount of sunlight. You will want to remove those damaged leaves at this point. If you choose to move it back into the sun, make sure they are very hydrated to prevent burning/scorching (might happen again though as it's late in the season). I would recommend if you want to grow them in full sun next year, you start the plants there and keep them well watered as we do grow them in full sun in FL - so we know the plants can handle that situation.

It might depend on the type of caladium you have. Most of our varieties do love life in the sun, while a few do not. So if you can find your tag, look up the specific type on our website to see if it is a Sun caladium, a Sun or Shade caladium, or a Shade only variety.
