This made me cry because I think back to when they had their son, when she was pregnant with him and you get an ultrasound and you hear the heartbeat, and when you're in labor they have a heartbeat monitor and all through his life his heartbeat is checked at doctors offices, checkups, and I just think about when their child was still developing, before the bad happened where he died, and they heard his heartbeat for the first time knowing they were bringing a life into the world

As a heart failure patient near the end stage, I can tell you with tears in my eyes how special the donor and his parents are. Selfless, to make that donor decision while going through their grief. They allowed the recipient to do the things I can no longer do because of my heart failure. After watching this .... I'm going to go donate a kidney ... for someone at Westchester Medical Center in NY. This was so heart gripping ... so moving. I both hate and love these acts that make me cry from the deepest depths of my soul. They're at the back of the pack in terms of organ donations, and I used to always be in the back of the pack in growing up, in school, in the love life and even in friendships. IT SUCKS being at the back, and no matter what I did or tried, I kept getting shooed to side. At least now, with this goal of mine, I could feel at peace with being at the back of the pack. And suddenly, everything seems a whole bunch different now. Anyway, it will be some time before I can share the experience of donating an organ, but once a mind is firmly made up ... that's it.
