About Govindas:
Govindas's yoga classes are an innovative approach and play between form and formless, honoring defined traditional vinyasa yoga structures and the inner creative and playful impulse... He recognizes and shares the power of spiritual ritual- of which for the most part has been lost in our modern day culture- and its power to deepen our connection with Spirit-... his classes infuse a healing breath-based approach to hatha yoga (directly drawn from his experience with his own disease) and the devotion of bhakti- "our yoga is a manifestation and affirmation of our dedication to love, health, and longevity." As a healing artform, Govindas intends to create an environment where the yogi/yogini can find a nurturing, nourishing, and balancing experience of breath, energy, and movement/circulation.... As a bhakti artform Govindas encourages yoga in the spirit of celebrating life, body and relationship and the greatest of all gifts, a human birth.... an opportunity to invoke and open up to "Grace"... Along with traditional yoga asanas, kriyas and breathing techniques, chanting/kirtan/mantras and free form movement/dancing are frequently used as methods to promote joy and "open up the heart"
