A couple days ago I was watching Charlie Benante play 5 Minutes Alone with Pantera 2.0 and it made me remember back to the spring of 1989 when Anthrax opened for KISS and a stick Charlie tossed into the crowd bounced off my head leaving a goose egg. Then I thought about Eric Carr's drum solo that night, it was the highlight of KISS's gig for me. I was there for Anthrax, was never a fan of KISS but as a drummer I was blown away by Eric's solo, I was on acid that night, Eric did his solo with these glowing sticks and all under blacklight that was trippy as fuck.
@ll78683 ай бұрын
Yeah, Eric did have far more talent than Gene and Paul allowed him to showcase on the albums, which is why his drum solo was the highlight of their show, you got to see just how talented he really was. It left me wondering why he was playing down to Gene & Paul's level. Everyone in that band who wasn't Gene or Paul was better than they were allowed to be, otherwise their fans would realize just how mediocre Gene & Paul were, that was the point of the makeup and flashy shows, to distract from the bland talent.

@@Nick-s5r Her son's father is a film director and producer. But even if she's poor and has to struggle I consider both sides. Paul and Gene were under pressure of the record companies and everyone who was involved in the KISS multi million project. Probably hundreds of employees and workers salaries depended on them. At least Paul wrote in his book that he was wrong. And when Loretta, Eric's sister, was on "3 Sides of the Coin" she didn't accuse Paul and Gene at all. And Carrie even said: "I'm friends with Gene".

I get it.. I've been a fan since 1976 when I first heard and seen this band called kiss on the Paul Lynn halloween tv special. It's hard to let "things" go - grace welcomes you

The best line of kiss was Eric car Paul Gene and ace and after ace left Bruce Kulick that was the best sounding best quality Kiss ever

I saw Kiss in 1980 at vfl park in Melbourne on the Unmasked tour when Eric first joined. Sorry he died but never liked his drumming or his look.

If Eric had lived he would have got booted just like Bruce for that shit reunion tour they did a couple years later.

SHIT? Do you know how big that tour was? Hardly shit

It’s possible too that a reunion could’ve still happened but it would’ve been Gene, Paul, Eric Carr and Ace back and of course the makeup would’ve been back as well, Eric Carr already had longevity and was in the band 11 years when he passed away and would’ve been in the band 15 years by 1995 and he wore makeup and was The Fox, Gene and Paul probably would’ve just kept Eric for a reunion in Makeup and only bring Ace back instead of Peter, but unfortunately we will never know for sure and can always speculate, RIP Eric Carr.

Kiss was off a extremely huge tour with Slaughter around that time. Probably after the next record/tour (Basically Revenege.) I mean we are only speculating obviously, But Eric may would had left the group anyways. Read so much from his then girlfriend (Carrie Stevens) that Eric was very unhappy with his place in the band. And others have said it also. Paul said himself they was not getting along (Barely speaking to each other.) Yeah, The Reunion was gonna happen anyways. So you may be correct. Giving how the band was at that time anyways before Eric's passing.

I thank after the psycho circus tour and the headache of working with Peter and his diminishing drumming skills Paul and Gene would’ve fired him. Eric would’ve got a call in a New York minute. I believe he would’ve stayed until the final shows last year!
