I grew up in the same village as Bradley lowery, but moved away when I was 16. I booked a day off of work to go to the funeral along with my parents who still live there. There was hundreds of different football shirts being worn, and seeing the Sunderland first team there was unreal. Jermaine Defoe is now a legend at Sunderland and always will be

As a Newcastle fan it’s one of the few times between our teams we have come together. Our colours during that time weren’t as important. We all felt for Bradley and his family. Defoe has our highest respect for what he did for Bradley and being there for him. A thoroughly decent lad.

One of the saddest moments I've ever saw in football was not presented in the video: the Chapecoense tragedy. The Chapecoense is a team from a relative small city in Brazil, which reached the finals of the 2016 Sulamericana League (basically, the South American equivalent to Europa League). They were performing such an amazing campaign, and could win the first international competition of their history. But, on november 2016, while they were flying to play the first match of the finals, their airplane fell off in the hills of Colombia. Almost the entire team died, and some press people too. After this match, the other team (Atletico Nacional), which they would play the finals, refuse to play any match in respect, and handed the trophy for the Chapecoense team. Also, at the time when the matches would occur, a set of tributes were performed at the Chapecoense stadium, remembering the victims of the incident.
