Hi Lyn! Another excellent video! I had to shuffle some plants around today, as I discovered a mealy bug outbreak on the tray in my smaller greenhouse. I rinsed and sprayed everybody and everything down with 99% alcohol, and insecticidal soap. I’m now going to have to go through and repot all those plants this week. I’ve been so busy with work the last two weeks, I forgot to check under the pots, like you always say. I will be taking care of my hard to find and old cacti first thing when I get home tomorrow, since I just didn’t have the energy to do it tonight. What’s the best way to treat root mealybug? The things we do for our plants! Sending you and Hans love and cactus power, from CA to The Emerald Isle.

So happy you loved the video Ashley :-D argh with the mealy bugs, they really are such a pain for us plant growers, root mealy bugs are beasties as they hide where we can't see them in their roots, with root mealies I use a systemic insecticide that you water into the soil to kill the root mealies, the one I use is called Provado 'Vine weevil killer' but it works for root mealy bugs too, I am not sure if they have it in the U.S but they may have something similar, I used to remove all the soil and then soak the rootball in alcohol for 5 minutes and then once the roots have dried I re pot into fresh soil with a sprinkle of Diatomaceous earth added to the soil, this works well but its very time consuming especially with a lot of plants, but the root systemic works really well as the roots take in the systemic and any root mealy bug eggs that hatch will die once they try to eat any of the roots, it really is a never ending battle of the bugs for us plant growers haha, thanks so much Ashley for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from Hans and me to California for a fantastic new week XXXX
