My favorite western Gunßmome from OTR to TV, I noticed that Marshall Dillon of OTR had an attitude while the TV Dillon was very much low key while getting his man.👌

Agreed with all you've said about Gunsmoke. Among the many genres, eras and styles of OTR that I love, over the years, Gunsmoke is undoubtedly my fave, for all the reasons, and more, that you mentioned. Doc was dubbed 'Adams' by Wm Conrad, as Doc's penchant for the gruesome, especially body grabbin' for experiments. It reminded Conrad of his fave cartoon in the New Yorker, Charles Adams', Adams Family. Conrad dubbed McNear (Pink, Floyd, the Barber) 'Adams', forevermore. A detail that was not transfered to TV. - thx - JJ
