basicly the skill level went down as far as i can tell, i got 9 wins with a shit deck because the people who i played weren't mentally capable of winning, 8/12 people i faced had a death knight hero, or had high quality legendarys and high synergy decks, my best 2 drop was river crocolisk, fucking river crocolisk, i basically relied on drawing a fireball, my bone drake, and getting good rng on my kabal courier and kibal chemist i only had 1 of each and if you've played kibal chemist you will know that even though it's roughly 50% chance to get some form of board clear (lets say potion of madness counts) you never actually get them (i only once got felfire potion and i had already won anyway) , those were my only competitive cards in the whole deck and even then most people had a bone drake so it was just whether or not i got a better card, i actually got a glyph but i was discovering rogue cards (which i dent realize when i chose it) so it turned out to be useless.

As someone who has played 10 years with gladiators as old as season 4 and 99-100 parses in raids i can say its been pretty balanced throughout the years. Wouldn’t have been such a successful game if it wasn’t.

It is an addictive game, that is a big part of its success. As for balance. there have always been the flavors of the month and the useless classes, it just changed which was which throughout the expansions, just as it happens with most of Blizzard's games (although to be fair, I had PvE in mind when I made that comment, not PvP).

I was a Priest with Hunter hp, I played a Priest who beat me at 1 health from a DK followed by a Mindbreaker that got buffed by my Tortollan Primalist, then the next game lost to a guy that had 2 Bloodreaver Gul'dans. 2. I've never even seen a DK in any of my drafts

I had a game as a PalaPriest. Had a Priest deathknight card in my deck, got a shaman deathknight card off of my crystaline from turn 2 and got ANOTHER priest deathknight through discovery.... Ended up playing 3 deathknight cards in one game... poor bugger.

Got a 12 win run with both the mage DK and the pala DK, accompanied by some good weapons and AoE spells. There seems to be a boost in class cards, resulting in some insane decks.

It's pretty easy to explain, why are decks you encounter way stronger than before. First, if your chance of getting class card in any slot was, let's say, 1/4, it is now 2/5, and everybody knows that class cards are better than neutral ones in general. Second, in this brawl it's really hard to play around anything, so skill means a lot less, which makes strong decks even more prevalent at high wins.

The reason why decks are so crazy is probably because you have twice as many class cards as you do in regular arena! With the spell bonus on top of that you get some really insane decks

I love this format. Since HearthArena doesn't work, all my opponents seem to be drafting and playing at toddler level - Feels like draft skill finally matters. Except for the occasional Death Knight of course, but those ruin normal draft as well, so now is basically better in all regards.

Yes, yes they are. More deathknights than ever. I was lucky enough to get a priest/mage with thought steal and I was able to consistently steal it. It didn't help everytime, but... all losses to deathknights. My free run was 0-3 and I played an evolve shaman with dk, hunter with dk, and a crazy mage/ priest. I have been able to pull 7 and 8 wins the two runs after. I am not on my 4th run, still no dk. I am pretty sure I won't do too well with my druid/hunter as the hunter hp doesnt seem do enough against these other decks.

I went 11-3 with my free run as a warlock with mage HP, carried by a single pyroblast, kabal courier RNG and a few average cards, no DK cards, legendaries or board clears. I even beat a Rogue/Mage that managed to use "Simulacrum" twice on a soggath the slitherer, but was swiftly crushed by 2 other Rogue/Mages with some insane Ethereal Peddler tempo.

It only summons an 8/8 if it dies on the opponent's turn. A 5 mana 2/2 that always summons an 8/8 on deathrattle would be crazy OP.

Well... Dual class or not. My first Arena runs with this new system I met people with insane decks. My first run was: 3 Firelands and 4 Fireballs. Mage/Priest 0-1 3 Spikeridge steeds and 2 vinecleavers. Paladin/Hunter 0-2 4 Evisc, 3 Vilespine slayers and Frostlich Jaina. Rogue/Mage 0-3 And I'm out. That were the top 20:ish cards of those decks because I died after that. My first couple of runs I was wondering about the same thing... Even if it's dual class they have better cards from one of the classes then they have when they went normally. Normally I average around 6 wins. I have hit 12 a couple of times in this new one, but in those situations it's really silly decks (Priest/Mage both of them)... Also for fun, one arenagame with a priest I picked 3 Glimmerroots and took DK cards from my opponents deck every other game.

Went 0-3 with a Druid-Mage that had 2 swipes, 2 blizzards, and an ultimate infestation. Sure I didn't have the best minion quality, but it definitely wasn't terrible. My final loss was against a crazy mage-warrior deck with Frost Lich Jaina. In summary, I'm saving my other free arena ticket until this clown fest is over.

I just played against a priest-mage with Raza, DK Priest and two different board clears. At 3-2. The two other losses were to DKs as well. That's how basically every Arena run ends in this expansion. No, it isn't fun.
