Just a note: This was recorded on day one of the quest changes and I hadn't really processed them yet. I posted a longer thread with my thoughts on Twitter earlier today, which are different from what I expressed here.

15 wins a week averages out to somewhere between 25-30 games if you're an average player. But some people really just don't have enough time to play that many games every week, not every one is a Hearthstone streamer lmao. Even then the biggest problem isn't the requirements being increased even, it's the proportionality of the rewards given not coming even close to matching up to the amount of increased effort you have to put in. I liked the suggestion I saw on reddit of turning weekly rewards into a reward track type thing as they do in events, 3000 points for 5 wins, then 500 points for 5 wins, then 500 points for 5 wins. Encourages people to play more while still maintaining the old base-line rewards for those that don't have enough time to play around 30 games.

played since TGT and this feels like the worst meta I've ever played. To be fair I stopped playing HS during year of Phoenix/Gryphon (2020/2021) so I completely missed stormwind, but it does feel like so Also about quest changes, winning 15 ranked games is completely fine. But stuffs like "play 60 miniature cards" is just INSANE. They did roll back but implementing it in current state of hearthstone just proves blizz doesnt give a shit about players

Frustrating how lots of pro's like Kibler couldn't possibly put themselves in the shoes of a casual player. That or they don't want to piss off Blizzard and lose their perks. Lots of people are about to quit the game because of this. I uninstalled last night. Its just really sad that you have this attitude when the health of the game is being decimated before your eyes.

15 wins in one week is about 30 games. How long is an average game of Hearthstone, 10 minutes? (probably less, especially for aggro decks, but lets be conservative) So 30 games is about 300 minutes, or 5 hours, across one week, which is less than an hour a day. I would say that is within "casual player" status.

@@Nibbieful This is a phone game for most people. I play it on break at work for maybe about 15 to 20 minutes 3 or 4 times a week. You would be a fool to think this situation isn't most Hearthstone players. People have lives, jobs, children. 5 hours a week on a card game is NOT casual my friend.

Finally someone that I agree with about the quest changes. More free stuff for not that much more effort. What's not to like? As a f2p player I'm very happy with the changes. I guess I won't complain if they reduce the numbers some soon, but I feel like what they did is fine. Maybe with exception to playing 60 minis, but thats about it.

not much more effort? even after the changes many quests are at least 100% more effort for not even close to that much reward. the time you spend completing quests now is just worth less xp/time spent than before. this ONLY serves to increase play time without proportionately rewarding players.

@Kieyable The fact that hearthstone gives so much free in game currency to begin with is a blessing by today's standards. Idk where all the talk of proportionality comes from. They require more play time for more reward. They never promised to increase play time and reward proportionally, and why even should they in the first place. You'd have to make the argument as to why they should do that rather than just disliking the route they took. Who says more playtime should be proportionately equal to reward earned? Most games we gamers play today don't reward anything for playtime as far as in game currency goes at least as a f2p player. I fail to see the problem everyone has with these changes. It isn't like they changed it to play more for the same reward. It's hardly the big issue everyone is making it out to be.

@brandonwest8921 By that logic, if you have 15 dollars, you must be wealthy because 15 is 3x the amount of 5. That's how everyone is acting about this change. From 5 to 15 games is only 10 more. Saying 3x is useless with such small numbers. If it was already 15 and went up 3x to 45, you would certainly have a stronger argument. Let's stop pretending like 15 is an outrageous ask in this scenario. And like I said before, there is no correlation from increasing play time to reward earned. That's just an arbitrary stat that people track. There is no inherent correlation between time played and in game currency earned when playing any video game. I guess it comes down to whether you're a glass half full or empty kind of person, and a lot of people that play hearthstone are evidently glass half empty types.

It is a matter of perspective-taking. Comes down to whether you can put yourself in the shoes of those who are frustrated. Great that you don’t mind, but consider someone who works full-time, has kids, and let’s even say bought the tavern pass. Let’s even assume they’ve completed all their weeklies, though barely, for the past few expansions. This is already a highly rewarded level of engagement. Now all of a sudden they have to at least double their engagement to get just barely more rewards than before. Again, great that you don’t mind, but it is easy to understand why some of us do.

Quest changes are horrible and anti-consumer. If Blizzard doesn’t revert this, new players will have a drastically harder time getting into the game.
