Hearthstone Dragon Priest #1 - New feature: deck record tracker

Hi everyone. There is a new feature to the videos now, a record of how well the deck has done. In case you're curious why it's been added, here is why: 1) Say 4 hours of Dragon Priest eventually make their way to KZbin and you come here wanting to know if the deck is any good. It's not always convenient to watch 4 hours of KZbin videos just to get an answer to that question, and if you watch one video it's possible you come away with a very wrong idea of how well the deck performed overall since even the worst decks can perform well over short periods of time. The deck record will give you a better, easier to access view of the deck's total performance. 2) Not all games from the stream make their way to KZbin. That means that as far as people who view on KZbin are concerned those games don't exist. That's lame. I want these long form videos to represent what it feels like to play ladder as closely as possible, but some of that is lost because there simply isn't enough time to post every single game. By keeping a record of the deck's performance, which will include games that don't make it to KZbin, the end product will tell you more about how it actually felt to play the deck on ladder. Before, if a deck went 5 wins and 20 losses, you might see a video with 5 wins and know nothing of the losses. That's obviously lame and not what these videos should be. With the deck record tracker you will have a clear view of how playing the deck actually went.

I've done really well with a different version of this deck. Cut 1 cultist, 1 valens chosen, 1 vol'jin, 1 dk sorcerer, add 2 technicians, 1 chillmaw, 1 cleric.

+lekobemcgrad y The Velens chosen really synergizes well with the high health and medium attack value Minions and he also runs 2 because of the holy nova but if it works for you it is just as fine :D

+Kolzi It's a great deck, it has no terrible matchups if played correctly and you have no bad luck it's like unbeatable.

+Kolzi look at reynads list on Hearthpwn. It is a bit outdated but just build a Hybrid between his and Stifecros list. If you can afford it, craft a Guardian or just play some other deck until you get your second :) good luck :)

+shuvo rahman Thats not true at all. Dragon priest is pretty close to a hard counter against both warrior types. Beating Warrior and Hunter is the reason to play this deck. Chillmaw destroys patron.

+Yoshi So hungry naah i would rather consider a Holy Smite instead of one shrinkmeister for Vol'jin synergy and early game removal. but he is a staple 2 drop and allows you to trade up with your other minions and the cabal shrinkmeister combo is very good with the potential to be really sick if you steal stuff like a ysera

Guys, I have 5030 arcane dust and Ysera, should I do the dragon priest or midrange paladin? I prefer the midrange paladin, but dragon priest is showing to be a very good deck... I'm confused of which deck to choose :P

+Felipe Mendes It's good that you have asked this. Because this deck isn't that strong afterall. Kolento seemed to have some issues with the dragon priest during his last tournament matches. During the yesterdays Star Ladder matches, Savijz and Noxious were both saying that this deck has no future. So maybe it needs some improvements. The Cabal + Shrinkmasters are the first step in that direction. But I feel like it needs something more. Probably Alextraza?

+Felipe Mendes Midrange Paladin in my opinion is a very interesting and versatile deck but i also love all sorts of dragon decks so i recently decided to craft my golden ysera and two guardians for those dragon deck i try out all the time (and ctrl warrior) but it depends on your playstyle and likings. the next thing i am definitely going to finish is going to be midrange paladin because it is just so stable and very good against aggro aswell as control. but if you are purely going for the deck value you should probably wait like 2 weeks and hoard some more for when the meta settles and the mediocre decks disappear so you can see what decks really are good. But if you want to build one deck NOW i would recommend dragon priest if you like dragon decks in general and you will not only craft the cards for this deck and midrange pala if you like the class and versatile playstyle of the deck

you should run the two 3 drop legends instead of cultist you have 4 activators and all of the would allow for good tempo swings

+deas13 games gets rid of needed dragon synergy, plus a 4/8 is practically indestructible. A 3/4 with divine shield? Not so much.

Hey guys i play a budget control warrior and a midrange paladin. Do you think I would be better to craft grom or Harrison. I'm still missing a lot of cards for full warrior. I only have boom Sylvanas sneeds and all of naxx.

+Zodd1204 If you want to be a Warrior why not Varian Wrynn? My deck collection is miles away from warrior but that would be still my first choice. This card is just like the Zar Bomb.

AraragiTheXIV Grom fits in more decks besides control, and more importantly is much faster than Varian.

+Zodd1204 varian without enough good cards is not good! harrison is generally a good choice because it is usual to be run in both decks but as it is a tech card i dislike to craft it (thats why i dont have it myself). still it is a solis card an worth to craft. but also good cards are ragnaros and alex (for ctrl warrior) and both of them are quite good in other decks, especially alex, but then again alex is not thaat good if you dont have gromm. but crafting grom to me seems kinda meh. Harrison might be fine because patron is likely to stay in the meta aswell as paladin, so harrison should be fine. also it can possibly be run in a variety of other decks like freeze mage, oil rogue, patron,....

+AraragiTheXIV varian sucks lol. By turn 10 as control warrior u have drawn more then half of your deck and don't need any card draw. And getting all big dude on board is such a bad idea. The eanmy can easily destroy the board with big aoe +Weston landre ya go for grom his really good how ever try getting alextraza next it's 1 of warriors win condition

+Tony Ramirez sylvanas is usually a pretty good card to put in most decks. that slot should be where you put in situational cards like harrison jones or black knight if youre fighting against a lot of taunt or weapon decks, but as a default: sylvanas is a good, sturdy card to use.

y not even a single light bomb? its the single most powerful priest card imo; as it allows u to stabilize vs patrons and run them out in fatigue and its the single most powerful tool vs lategame handlock in the game; just curius as to the thought process behin not including

+Jake Arcouette space is the thought behind this but you can surely put one in. the thing is that patron and handlock are not that much seen in the meta right now so it is okay to put them out agains any card that is not dead :D also holy nova wiht velens also wrecks patron

You know what? Maybe try subbing Ysera for Alex and add Velen in place of a sorcerer. That way you have a perhaps more reliable finisher using Mind Blast with Malygos or Velen. Also, running a deck with Malygos but without Emporer

Samuel Hockley I used to have Alex in there but the battlecry effect wasn't very useful as they would already be at 15 or so by the time it was turn 9. You can kill your oponent very fast with this deck! I don't own Valen in my collection, but I really would sub him out for Ysera! I really like Ysera cause the draw power she brings late game and the extra dragon minion.

I think Reynad's original version was a bit better than this, i mean cabal and shrinkmeister are good, but Rend, Chillmaw, and lightbomb make the grim patron and control matches much better while still maintaining a solid game against aggro.

+Dacr0n Lightbomb and Chillmaw are both great counters against secret pala and grim patron, the two strongest decks in the meta, so i think is a big mistake not playing them. Im not saying this version is bad, i just think the other one is stronger

Kolento went 37-0 with it and he doesn't even run light bomb coz he thinks it sucks. I think this version is way better because of cabal to deal with those aggro decks. Also grim patron is not a thing right now lol

This isn't the deck to complain about net decking. It pretty much built itself. When making it your own the only real choices are things like lightbomb or holy nova, sw: pain or smite.. dragon synergy cards and keeping a good curve kinda forced the deck to be very specific.
