True that. The problem isn't it's attack. In an early stage of the game you can take 7 damage easily. The problem comes if you can deal with itin couple of turns. Then you are fucked.

Something that wasn't mention is that Framewreathed is is not only is it 4 mana 7/7, is that overload synergizes with trogs to pump their attack and there are overload cancelers, like lava shock so often times its not a 4 mana 7/7 overload 2 its just 4 mana 7/7 pump your troggs attack by 2. So the mechanic which was made to compensate for its stats doesn't do its job. Tunnel Trogg is a pretty busted card itself as well imho, considering it combos with something that is supposed to be part of a cards cost.

It goes to insane with other shaman cards that work so well with it. Feral spirit and thing from the below to protect it. or just taunt totem. Even though you have a hard removal on turn 4 to deal with it. You will still very much behind tempo on next turn by taunt + flametongue combo. But still, 6 mana 7/7 on turn 4 is very powerful on its own.

Kripp I'd be interested to have your opinion as to why BGH is not seeing any play at all any more (I mean, it's become kind of "meh" but not that bad).In theory it's still an acceptable tech card in terms of value : remove a big threat and throw a 4/2 on the board + tempo swing for 5 mana seems OK in a control deck.Of course it's situationnal but in the current meta those situations are not so rare :- turn 4 shaman plays his 4 mana 7/7 => opponent's turn => BGH => turn 5 shaman has 3 mana and must deal with the 4/2. That's a huge tempo swing. Also, running a BGH along with other single target removals juste increases your probability to have some answer to the dreaded 4 mana 7/7.- many zoolocks also play sea giants so running BGH allows you to use removals on smaller threats and makes your early game more consistent- can make the difference in control match-ups where you need to be ultra-careful with your single target removalsThen I guess it's hard to fit in most decks because many other cards have much higher priority, but I'm currently testing it in a control warrior (no C'Thun) and it's been acceptable so far.Makes me more liberal with my executes and shield slams in early /mid game if I really have to, hence makes the deck more consistent, and control opponents don't expect a BGH at all and think I'm desperate once my second execute has been used. Havent' got the chance to destroy a Flamewreathed on turn 5 so far though...

If Flamewreathed Faceless were just a 6 mana 7/7, it would be ok (although still very strong in arena). But the thing is splitting that cost through overload is strictly better than paying the full cost immediately. Firstly, you just get it out sooner, which is inherently a benefit. Secondly, there are other shaman cards that specifically benefit from or remove overload. It's the same reasons that totem golem is better than spider tank.

As rogue, always keep a sap against shaman so they can pass and overload themselves for two mana on turn four

There's a tempo upside to FF because of the lowered initial cost, but it's not all sunshine. If the opponent does have a 1 card answer in hand, it's a losing trade for Shaman which is very unusual in the threat vs answer dynamic -- and past turn 4, that becomes a pretty common thing (and even on turn 4; opponent is either on turn 5 or has the coin; things like Assassinate can hurt a lot). You have a weak next turn and nothing to show for it. If you were winning, your weak next turn loses that advantage and then Shaman has problems. In constructed against anything but zoo (which just mobs your 7/7 and continues to flood), answers to threats are pretty common. It's again arena; the shortage of quality answers (and rarity of them) creates an imbalance there. Same issue as with Sap. Hearthstone needs more answers to threats available, both to balance arena and to fight zoolock a little more easily. In particular something like a 4-5 mana "silence all minions, then deal 2 damage to them" for a class that doesn't currently deal with zoolock mobbing well would be pretty handy to have in the game. Maybe for Rogue? Personally I dislike aggro Warrior's 22 damage Worgen combo out of hand a lot worse than a 4 mana 7/7. 10- mana for 22- damage that also leaves an 11/5 windfury in play (and hurt so some Rogue cards are disabled as removal) is very annoying. You can be winning in every possible way; ahead in cards, health, and have a much stronger board. No taunt? Dead, sorry. It's not really fun to play against, you are just racing a draw clock vs a deck that does nothing but draw as fast as it can. Beatable sure and weak to control warrior or any taunt-heavy deck (like some druid) but not a fun experience and difficult to fight even for priest who can keep themselves at 30 pretty well. Actually I wouldn't mind hearing Kripp's pov on that particular warrior deck, since he likes warrior.

You can't think of a card while isolating it. You must think of that card on the context of the decks that can be built with it and the other cards for that hero. Yeah, 4 (to 6) mana 7/7 is outstanding, but Shaman do not have so many other great cards, specially bosses. It is good to hear Kripp analyzing the context o Faceless instead of just bashing it like everyone else.

Blizzard devs were clueless as to how to help Shaman, so they literally did the laziest thing to do: give them generic vanilla minions that are under-costed. Trog: 1 mana 3/3 usually. Totem Golem: 2 mana 3/4. Flamewreath: 4 mana 7/7. Thing From Below: 0-4 mana 5/5. That's literally the laziest way to balance a class. Blizzards approach to helping shaman is pathetic. Devs have no idea how to balance this game.

Shaman isn't really a cycle class so if you ever have a 0 mana 5/5 taunt you're probably top decking at that point. Thing from below was meant to synergies to master of evolution.
