Lewis is one of those guys in hearthstone. The one you play against and are like "How is this guy only rank 18 with _that_ deck!?"
@andrewzmorris9 жыл бұрын
Ranks are mostly an indication of how much time you put into playing constructed. Besides, the best decks for ranking up generally consist of *zero* expensive cards.
@Skuljor9 жыл бұрын
Andrew Morris yeah until about rank 10. At which point you start seeing 3-4 legendaries every single game. This game model is called pay to win for a reason. Lewis beat sips because he busted out at least 3 legendaries every game.
@okdanhe9 жыл бұрын
***** yes so lewis bought a lot of packs in order to get these legendaries, i dont want to imaging the amount he spend on hearthstone :p oh well, he earns enough and if thats how he enjoys it then i dont rly care.
@Ghozt519 жыл бұрын
Skoljor Not really pay to win. you cant be absolute garbage at the game and buy a thousand packs and automatically get to legendary. Legendaries are well balanced and while they are easily better than basic decks, you will get to about rank 8 and lose unless you actually know what you're doing
@GlodChip9 жыл бұрын
***** Some legendarys which found their way in many constructed decks have such a little downside (if any at all) that it is negligible. And the randomness of card packs can be bypassed by buying more which is still pay to win (or what I like to call it in the case of Hearthstone "pay to have fun" since it's definitely more fun to make the silliest decks out of all cards than an efficient/monotonous deck out of some cards).

There are plenty of decks with mostly common or rare cards that are very powerful. Zoo warlock uses basically only common or rares, for example, yet zoolock is one of the most powerful decks in the game. Sips just has bad decks because he doesn't netdeck.

If you're playing at a high rank, then it's okay to "netdeck", but since Lewis is utterly terrible, and is not a high rank at all, I agree that he shouldn't, and he's playing against Sips, so that's another reason why he shouldn't.

Players like Lewis ruined the game for me. Maybe 1/10 matches is enjoyable, rest of them are either really bad at the game or have spent 100+ $ on packs and copies decks from top players. Arena could be cool, but the cost (time it takes to get the gold) is ridiculous with all the netdecking/p2w going on. Core of the game is great, but casual gamers like me cannot enjoy it as it is now.

I'm a casual player and enjoy it quite a bit. Then again I only try to get to rank 20 and I don't care much at all about losses along the way. Hearthstone is my relaxation game so I don't take any of this stuff seriously. Being a tryhard will ruin your gaming experience with some games, I've found. As for the video... I loved it. More of these head to heads would be fun to watch.
@walker10549 жыл бұрын
The thing is that people are always gonna chose the best cards they can, and most of the time that means copying the pros. There should be a ranked mode where you have the same cards as the other player!!

It's a pay to win game, you should've expected this from Blizz.....
@Sebastian-if9ii9 жыл бұрын
Well, and then again, there are those who can actually get 5+ wins in their Arena runs, which pretty much makes them pay for themselves again. Get about 300 gold, and you will be able to get about 4-5 Arena runs, if you do fairly well in them. ^^

If only Warlocks had the same health buffs as Priests, a Mal'Ganis play would be basically unstoppable. You can tap out as many cards as you want without your health going down, I believe you're immune to fatigue, and, if you had a couple of those bullshit Priest double-the-health-of-an-already-beefy-minion-until-it's-tougher-than-the-Hulk spells, Mal'Ganis would be untouchable. Just get a couple of substantial taunts up in front of him, and that's it. You've won the game. Not the match, but the entire game of Hearthstone.

Jorgen Schroen Whether you believe it or not, legendaries decide games far more than any other cards. The only problem is that you need a bit of setup to play them or they're wasted.
@JH-pj8nw9 жыл бұрын
It's only game. Why you heff to be mad?
@vincentcook53759 жыл бұрын
Jorgen Schroen playing all legendaries is bad because they dont work well together, playing a few that are right for the deck decide the outcome of the game more oftern than not. that said its not paying that ruins the game its the netdecking and the stupid meta game, when everyones using the same few decks it takes most of the fun out of it
@Ghozt519 жыл бұрын
People here complaining about hearthstone being pay to win are clearly low ranked. Coming from someone who has spent about 5 pounds in total on the game (mostly for arena) and reached rank 8, the game rewards you for having good cards, sure. But about a quarter of legendaries are of any use (not gimmicky or situational) and are often beaten by rares and epics. Sure you can sink a hundred pounds into the game and charge your way through rank 25 - 10. But when you get to that point, you have nothing but people who know what they're doing and have optimized decks, and unless you know what you're doing you will be stuck there. Pay to win would be legendaries being so overpowered you could get to legendary easily. Not beating people with shitty decks. TL;DR : the game is 'pay to win' to a certain point. No one really cares about said point (rank 10) If you want proof, look at the countless 'F2P to legend series' and total biscuit's '30 Legendaries deck'

To everyone who thinks this game is pay 2 win: I think not! I've faced many people who have decks with 4-6 legendaries in them, all the Naxx cards, some exclusive card backing for buying something, etc. Then there's me with 5 legendaries, 3 of which are pretty bad, and 1 that's mediocre (Alexstrasza is the only legendary I use) Yet I'm still able to trump (heh, joke) my opponents, even when they have the best decks. Handlock? Ramp Druid? HUNTURD???!!!?!?!!? I've beaten them all before, even with their absurd amounts of legendaries. I've even struggled and beat a Deathwing Priest. Yeah, Deathwing Priest, ever heard of it? No? Okay then..... ._. My point is that it is possible to overcome most pay 2 win players like Lewis. Note that I said most. That's because you could come across Kolento and get blown up by turn 4.
@therandomperson029 жыл бұрын
Also, Lewis is like a novice Hearthstone player on a pro's account, he's just so bad but wins because of all the cards he bought.

Yea, but legendaries are in most cases not the winning factor, at least not for me. It's the fckn copied decks that are so boring. I usually get like 3 nobrainer rush decks in a row, and then a normal game. I know I am to blame a bit since I'm not that good, and also almost only play gimmicks.
