Also, it draws way more than a control because of misterious challenger and divine favor so you can't outvalue them. If you let them have the board, you lose and it's super hard to play against cause you have no idea what secret its gonna have, so new players might not have fun and I also don't have cause this deck is retarded.

+Scott Poet Actually I prefer secret pally to Patron Warrior. You can sort of try to play around it. Patron was just "If they have it in their hand you're fucked." if you can keep up in tempo with their early aggression, you can beat Secret Pally most of the time. Basically most other aggressive decks can beat it with the luck of the draws. Midrange and Control are just fucked right now. But that's not the doing of Secret paladin alone. Rather everyone is playing aggro because it gets shit done quicker and more reliably. AggroStone : Faces of RNJesus. The name of the game right now.

+LiwenDiamond idk I had a good pally aggro deck to deal with Patron warrior 60/40 win ratio. If you knew how do deal with Patron's early game counters to aggro, the pressure forced them to put down cards they needed for their combos before they were ready. Doesn't really work against secret pally. They just always empty their hand without much thought.

Any card that allows for other cards to be drawn and put into play, should be reviewed carefully. Just drawing a card in Hearthstone is actually worth quite a lot. Drawing 4-5 cards is worth a ton. Putting cards into play at the same time as drawing is just insane.

The devs seriously need to take a deep breath, gather confidence, and make a huge update, a complete rebalance of the whole game, and leave close to no cards untouched, and think of every aspect. There are so many cards that are never used, and then there are a few cards that mostly just *need* to be in *every* deck to make it the best it can be(looking at you Dr. Balanced). That's not a balanced game. Because look at Dr. Boom. I don't remember who said it originally, but I remember someone saying that they could "nerf" it by making it 8 mana instead of 7, and it would still be one of the best, if not the best legendary in the game. They need to take a few months of absence from the expansion of the game, think through what's needed, and then completely revamp the game. If not, the game as a whole will crumble.

Something which also isn't mentioned that often with mysterious challenger is the deck thinning it ends up doing once played. One is more likely to draw that Boom into Tirion (or Divine Favor if they run out of steam) after playing a mysterious challenger since it pulls so many dead draws out of the remaining deck so you don't even have to pay that much to put the secrets in the deck to begin with. So you first get smashed in the early game then you get smashed in the midgame by challenger and then after they've played that they have probably thinned their deck by at least 5 dead draws and they probably have Tirion and Dr.Boom in those remaining cards if they haven't drawn them yet.

I don't get how the Secret Keeper didn't get the the +1 attack treatment Undertaker got. Maybe it's because the card wouldn't work on other decks that have more expensive secrets. The card is still absurd on Paladin. I don't know how Secretkeeper isn't a paladin card aswell... Anyways, nerf that wouldn't do much, because there's a card for 2 mana with divine shield that can be protected by a 1 mana secret, or even resurrected by another 1 mana secret... And the best part is that it gets another Divine Shield for free! I think next expansion Paladin should get a 5 mana drop that is stronger than that silly dragon. What about a Piloted Shredder with Divine Shield that plays a secret when it dies?

Hearthstone ladder is fucked right now. Obviously it might not be representative of the ladder as a whole but I've been coming up against secret pally in close to 80% of games. It's a boring deck to play against, it's a boring deck to play, it requires virtually no skill, and (now Blizzard have shit all over the highest skill cap deck in the game) there's really not much to do against it except play hunter with flare and hope you win the coin toss with who draws better. Still Blizzard care deeply about making Hearthstone fun, interactive, and balanced so I'm sure there'll be a fix sometime in the next year or two smh.

Let's make some elementary school level math here: in Hearthstone drawing a card costs around an avarage of 1.5 mana (e.g. arcane intellect - 3 mana draw 2 cards). Mysterious Challanger - for 6 mana not only you get to draw up to 5 cards, but you also get them played as well. So: 1.5 mana x 5 (from drawing the cards) + 5 (from playing them) = 12.5. For 6 mana you get a 6/6 body and up to 12.5 mana advantage in tempo. Oh yeah, and you can technically get this TWICE per game. Now this alone would already be disgustingly broken, but in addition, you give this card to a class that already had the best early game of Hearthstone (minibot, muster for battle, coghammer), divine shields, minion buffs, card draw engine and one of the most overpowered legendary in the game (Tirion). I think someone at Blizzard should be fired.

Patron needed a nerf. Not the nerf it got, but something. You shouldn't be able to deal 50+ damage with a EMPTY board. Mysterious Challenger on the other hand, is just op. It doesn't matter though, Blizzard will nerf the Mysterious Challenger 4 months from now after they release another expansion that brings something else op as fuck.

Well at 14:24 he does make a misplay to not attack first and then kill the second challenger with siphon soul... removing all the buffs it gets + revive leaving only the 2/1 getdown

The only reason I feel this card is fine is because the set up it requires, this card will basically guarantee a win, but they already had to be winning in the first place, It's not like this card is actually gonna make a difference in most cases, if you are already going to win and then play this card you are more likely to win, but if your losing or even if your just not ahead and play this card it basically doesn't make a difference.

Is Mysterious Challenger overpowered when you get perfect draws and don't trip and fall over your necessarily inconsistent decklist? Uh... kinda? Seriously, this deck isn't that hard to beat and is only scary when they actually draw well. When they draw poorly they just lose instantly unlike basically every other netdeck on the ladder right now, I'd much rather play five secret paladins in a row than five shockadins since I know I'll probably get a free win or two against the former while the latter will have consistent pressure basically every single time.

+King Chen Shadow of nothing was recently changed so it doesnt destroy itself. During gvg, alot of minions were turned into mechs. Druid of the claw became a beast. Bane of doom was buffed to include all demons. Unleash the hounds used to be 4 mana and then was buffed to 2 mana. Abusive sergeant was buffed so it could target enemy minions too. Flesh eating ghoul went from rare to common (easier to acquire). Frostbolt was buffed to 2 mana down from 3. Mirror image used to be 2 0/1's now 0/2's. Northshire cleric used to cost 2 mana. Sorcerers apprentice used to be 2/2. Preperation (rogue spell) used to only reduce spell cost by 2. Power word shield used to only give +3 health. Cabal shadow priest used to be 3/4. Sacrificial pact used to cost 2 mana. Hunter's mark used to only be for one turn. Hex frog became a beast. Frothing berserker used to be 1/4. Inner rage effect was only for one turn. Cruel task master used to be 2/1.

Let's analyze MC. 6 mana 6/6 that puts a max of 5 cards into play (average of 4, sometimes less). With the average of 4 secrets, that's 4 mana for "free," making MC a "2" mana 6/6 (if Avenge hits then it's sort of a 3 mana 9/8).Free is in quotations because each secret costs a card, if that makes sense. Combined with the other best cards for their cost in the game (Zombie Chow, Minibot, Muster, Dr. Boom, Tirion) the deck is insanely overpowered. What Firebat said about the minion combat and Paladin having the absolute best stat-for-stat minions is 100% true. When you have the correct removal, it isn't as bad. But, if you don't, you lose 97% of the time. I've played the deck a lot and when I win, which is probably higher than 75% of the time, I feel bad for my opponent, because it just isn't fair.

Some of you are also forgetting that it's pulling 5 cards out of your deck. Deck thinning is ridiculously good in any collectible card game, much less one with only 30 cards. That's 1/6 of the deck gone right there. Even if it's only 3 cards, that's still very strong. Yes, there's a chance you draw all your secrets before Challenger, but WHOOPS DIDN'T DRAW WELL is a potential flaw in literally every single deck ever.

The main problem with Mysterious Challenger is its value. For 6 crystals, you get a 6/6 creature + draw and play 5 cards. Technically, that's about 21 crystals (6 for creature, 10 for draw five cards (5x2), and 5 for the 1mana secrets). By comparison, Dr Boom is 7 for about 18 crystals (7 for creature, 3 for draw and play 2 1/1 creatures (Living Roots), and then max 8 for 8 damage (draw and play 2x Flamecanon). Its really hard to catch that huge a swing and, unlike, the Dr. there can be 2x in the deck.
