it's literally the same thing as fel reaver. I like how ADWCTA and Merps described it: Your cards in your deck don't exist until they are drawn. You have literally zero ownership of any cards when they are still in your deck. People have this misconception that when cards are discarded, they are somehow lost, when in reality you aren't actually losing anything.

That's true as long as fatigue isn't an issue in your current game. Also if your deck has specific cards that are your win condition, such as hero cards or a very powerful legendary that would be devestating to mill. If those things don't apply to your current game, then milling has no effect.

I think you should just not all in on that card unless you think you can win the game via face damage in a couple turns. I think it's significantly better than fel reaver since you can control when the ability triggers (like if you don't want to discard you can just trade it into something, worse case scenario you mill 3 cards)

How's the new arena for you? I experienced a hunter dk turn 6 and a priest dk later on, both from deck. At 1-1

Paulius Uztupas I had a Hunter DK me on turn 6 at 0-0 LUL. Still won the game though, he never took control of my board and I just killed him after hitting face 3X with a Gruul from Free From Amber. When I was like 7-1 I found a Paladin that played Uther of The Ebon Blade on curve, but also lost after like 4 turns because I had some pretty big minions and just kept pushing face. The other DK played during my run was actually by me, after finding Shadowreaper Anduin from a Kabal Courier. SRA actually won me the game since I took out the entirety of my opponent's board after playing it on curve. I went on to finish that run at 12-1 with a Mage/Priest Hybrid, only losing to a Rogue who killed me on like turn 6 LUL. The lesson? You have to switch game plans when someone plays a DK. Even if your deck is the greediest control Priest you've ever drafted, it's unlikely to outvalue almost any DK hero power in the long run (almost because of Scourgelord Garrosh LUL). You have to be agressive, push the board and tempo as much as possible, because you're going to lose in the long game. DK's are insane cards, but if you are playing from behind (as was the case with my opponents) more often than not they are a detriment to you, especially considering most have an exceedingly high mana cost in a game mode that is all about tempo. The card has to help you stabilize very quickly (if not immediately, as was the case when I played my SRA.) If played when no one is ahead or if you are winning the board, then they basically are an instant win though. I noticed this in a run where I was lucky enough to draft a Frost Lich Jaina, but only actually went 7-3. Not only do you have to draw your DK (which may be challenging if your deck has hardly any card draw) but you also have to not die as soon as you play it. In many instances I had Frost Lich Jaina in my hand but didn't even play her because it would have been tempo suicide. Only one of my games with that deck were won by the DK card, so while they are very powerful cards, they are certainly not the be-all-end-all some people make them out to be. Hell, the very Hunter that DK'ed me on T6 started emoting like he just won the game (he did kill like 3 minions with the Battlecry.), but he went real silent after I started pouding his face in with my Gruul.

If those Banshees were Yetis then... In the first game a Yeti would not have traded up into the Kabal Songstealer, But if you play out the game as if the Banshee/Yeti went face then after the Obsidian Statue deathrattle there would have been a 50% to kill Kabal and a 50% to kill the 8/12 (8/8 after trade). If Kabal survived and it went face: Then Kripp could have Corpse Raidered either living minion and traded the two 4/5s killing the 5/5 and leaving a nearly identical board compared to 7:33 except Kripp would be at 4HP If Kabal survived and traded for the 4/3 or the 4/5 then Kripp could have Corpse Raidered the living minion and traded it in to get a fresh 4/5 or 4/7 and creating a nearly identical board compared to 7:33 If the 8/8 survived Kripp could have Corpse Raidered either living minion and traded the two 4/5s killing the 8/8 and leaving a nearly identical board compared to 7:33 Then the game would have proceeded the same and ended the same. In that second game, the only thing that would have changed was that the rogue would have been overkilled by 3 less HP In other words ignoring draw rng changes if the Banshees were Yetis the outcome of both games would not have changed unless the Priest won a 50/50 and had 4 damage from hand in the first game.

Kripp, if you don't go through all your cards then you actually get better performance most likely with perfect play. There are less cards in your deck so you have more information about what you are going to draw. Your opponent has information about cards you discarded too, but you should be able to make better use of it and in practice for an exceptional arena player like yourself they won't be able to make as good use of the information.

Because Cobalt Scalebane is a better mid game card and Keening Banshee is literally just a Chillwind Yeti with +1 attack. Constructed is more synergy/combo based than stat value based.

I'd still rather just take a Fel Reaver or a Bittertide Hydra. Your control over the drawback isn't worth the card being barely above curve, while Fel Reaver and Bittertide are +4/+3 over Yeti. If the drawback of losing cards isn't as bad as it seems, as Kripp believes, then Fel Reaver is still a better card regardless. inb4 someone exposes their lack of skill by saying Fel Reaver is bad.

"Fel Reaver and Bittertide are +4/+3 over Yeti" they're in the 5 slot though, so it's +3/+2. Not only that, but you're only comparing the upside without comparing the downsides properly. The results for them are way more dispersed, with banshee while it's true that you're only getting +1/+0 over the vanilla, it still gives you a free trade most of the times, and then it trades with something else, generating both tempo and card advantage. Fel Reaver usually does just the same, plus on very rare occasions it lives to kill a late drop (mostly when your opponent skips a turn while you're going full-on tempo, so it doesn't really matter that it's an 8/8 in those cases). The main difference is that you can switch to the face game easier with Fel Reaver. But the downside is way higher as well. Most hard removal that kills banshee kills Fel Reaver too, so if that happens, you'll lose more tempo, and some amount of cards from your deck on top of that. Now, if you're playing banshee/Fel Reaver, you're not designing your deck around fatigue, and if you discard a couple more random on-curve drops, it doesn't really matter that much. But what your deck will certainly have is some number of powerhouse tempo cards like removal/bonemare/etc., and if you're not instantly winning on the Fel Reaver, you might regret discarding those. So the controlled effect on the discard is way more important than one could think. Combine those downsides and you'll get a pretty safe tempo play in banshee and a not-so-safe Fel Reaver that you can use when either you're winning by playing it or you're too behind and have to play it to have at least some chance. And yes, in both of those cases Fel Reaver is better than banshee, but overall they take different slots and can't really be compared with a simple "I'd rather take this one". It's even more difficult to find a slot for hydra. If you're instantly winning the tempo game by playing a 5 mana 8/8, the Fel Reaver's downside doesn't matter at all, while hydra can lead to your opponent switching to a face game and beating you like that. When you're ahead, you don't want to take those kinds of risks and you'll much rather play a 5 mana 5/5 than hydra, let alone a 4 mana 5/5. If you're behind, you're most likely pretty low on HP and hydra will just kill you on board. Even if it won't, the opponent will just ignore it and beat you to the point where you can't trade with hydra, which is what you wanted to do in the first place. There're a lot of different situations when you're even, but hydra's downside is too significant in most of them. So let's just keep seeing it as a bad card.
