I always love to see more people become aware of this game’s existence! Here’s some things about the game’s design and balance: The ranked mode here is barely punishing. I’m not a hearthstone player so I’m not sure how punishing that is, but to climb in this game you essentially need to win 5 games a rank. In the first two ranks, losing garners no punishment. In the last 3 before ultimate, losing takes away 1 point from your rank, but you can never drop ranks when climbing. With this system, pretty much any deck can go to ultimate if you’re patient and or good at piloting it. In terms of the cards, there’s quite a bit of powercreep. For example, most starting cards are actively harmful to play and are severely understatted. Each class has a 1 cost 1,1 with no abilities, but then have an uncommon card which is a 1 cost 2,2 with an ability. With this powercreep some cards are busted whilst others can be worthless whilst occupying the same mana slot in the same class, only being separated by rarity, which is just a shame. In terms of a meta, as mentioned previously with the ranked system, anything can theoretically perform well enough to get you through. However, the Reddit and Discord community attached for this game have gone through and tested cards and decks to make good decks with the best cards, which can be found on the discord, and have occasionally held tournaments in the past. And I believe the discord has their own ladder you can partake in as well. Otherwise the game is very fun, and I’m excited to see what cards are brought up next!

The biggest reason i still love and play this game to this day is the fact that popcap, the company whos now having screw up after screw up with the new pvz games, SOMEHOW managed to get the peak perfect balancing after abandoning the game. No need for more nerfs or buffs, the game just balances itself perfectly

This is interesting. As someone who’s been playing for a while I do have my own chips to throw in (will update as I watch) -Go Nuts isn’t good at all. While yes they are right where it only works when you draw all the goodstuff + the go nuts, most Go Nuts decks just instantly fall to removal. Crazy’s entire existence makes this card (and several others) obsolete just because I think Crazy is the best Zombie class because of how consistent it is and how much dumb broken ass shit it has, like Fruitcake, Final Mission + Barrel of Deadbeards (4 cost, do 4 damage to one thing then do 1 to everything else, make a 4/3 in the lane of the barrel) and other aboce average cards like Con-Man and Aerobics Instructor -Ketchup is entirely wrong, this card is fantastic. If the Zombies have at least 2 zombies on the board (a common occurrence), this is a 3 cost 3/3 heal for 2. Anything more it becomes an overstat. Ketchup specialises in locking down lanes when there are too many lanes covered so you can turn any lane into a favourable match up when played correctly. -Dandy lion is terrible. By the time it comes out, if you haven’t died to Crazy winning by turn 4 (yes, Crazy allows you to win by TURN 4) and you have been hitting the Zombie hero each turn at least once, you will probably do no more then 7 damage and it won’t even always hit the enemy hero, the damage can get blocked. People don’t run this card because your better off just hitting the enemy hero or setting up a game winning combo instead of just committing like, 6 damage that won’t even kill the turn you “should” win.

hover goat is a reactive card were you have to play it in a way to make it get hit so you can play it again. its a card that you have to commit a whole turn for while it or the thing it buffed can get killed 6/10 tricaratops is broken because you just being able to place it and it just becomes stronger and strong while never activating the block meeter 10/10 fire rooster was at 1 point good but now its not that good anymore do too you either ignoring it or hitting it with a cheap trick 5/10 final mission on itself is a decent card but is incredibly good when combined with cards like barrel of dead beard which when destroyed does damage to all minions and places a 4/3 on the field along with the 4 damage from final mission 7/10 Lima pluradon is one of the better cards because of it being a 2/2 that can be in the water either. you use a trick to kill it or you have to stick a zombie there which will only happen after the next turn. due to this you have already shuffled a bean stalk and done 2 damage and this card punishes if you don"t kill it because of how good magic beanstalk is also most amphibious minions have realy bad stats for their cost and lima probably has the best for its cost 8/10 black eye pea is a solid good card 8/10 go nuts is a situatonaly good card that you really have to commit a deck for it but you really have to hord your deck and spam cheap minions. but you get destroyed if you fight any crazy deck 6/10 ketchup mechanic is a catch up tool were if you opponent has just 2 zombies its incredably solid but if they have 3 its a 4/4 heal 3 and anything more is just broken. 8/10 dandylion king is garbage. in most agro decks you hant to win befor turn 8 or befor you run out of steam and that just means to use this you either have to be lame and stall for 6 turns or make it do alot less damage then intended also because of its 6 cost it means this is the only thing you play on turn 6 being a dry 4/4 card whils theres better stated cards and this can be killed with less then 6 brains good idea but just bad 2/10 wall nut bowler is barley seen cause of how late you have to use it but it can be devistating unless your fighting a swarm deck then its just killed replacable minions or you die befor you play it 5/10

The only time Dandy Lion King is actually usable is in Solar Flare healing comeback with Heartichoke and Venus environment But again, it requires A LOT of setups AND is situational so all in all, quite a bad card for a Legendary rarity

Fun fact about Tricarrotops: if you play it on a Lily Pad that generates a Potted Powerhouse, the Potted Powerhouse will gain +1/+1 from the Tricarrotops growing itself with its Dino-roar. And you also get to leave the Tricarrotops in the water lane.

Coming from a competitive PvZ Heroes player, but yeah this game is completely dead after we've already discovered the best deck in the game in just this year. Hover-Goat 3000: Uh this card really sucks in competitive plays. Beastly buff decks are irrelevant in today's meta pace Tricarrotops: This card is 1 of the best cards in the game due to being almost impossible to remove at a cost cheaper than it and provides insane tempo as well as snowballs very well. Fire Rooster: Card sucks. Aggro is pretty terrible and this is a bad way to play aggro Final Mission: 1 of the best removal cards in the game due to there being another card called Barrel of Deadbeards which is a 2 cost 0/1 that makes a 4/3 when it is destroyed and does 1 damage to the whole board Lima-Pleurodon: It's solid, because it's just a 1 cost 2/2 amphibious which is good stats. Not really any gamebreaking, but it's very good because it's a bean, and there's another card called Admiral Navy Bean which does 2 damage to your opponent instantly when you play a bean, so its often used together to burst a lot of damage Black-Eyed Pea is very good, very much a solid tempo card, and pretty much all zombies need to use tricks to respond reactively since zombies need to play first and can only get last say by doing tricks or 1 other zombie Go-nuts are absolute trash because it is an incredibly easy plant to die and has a very bad payoff anyways Ketchup Mechanic: 1 of the best cards in the game. period. in the best deck in the game by far. and healing is very important as the best deck in the game is relevant to leverage this card to buff another card which grows everytime you heal. and i'd 100% disagree this is off-meta since it is one of the best cards in the best deck in the game dandy lion king is an absolute garbage card because games do not relevantly go past turn 6 a lot of the time and is pretty underwhelming since there's almost no way you're getting a lot of damage from this. Wall-nut bowling is 1 of the worst cards in the game because games pretty much never go to turn 9. the majority do not think this card has any value since by the time the plant player can play this card they have probably won already since zombie players' decks are largely developed to win before that point.

Watched through the video and thought to leave some notes here based on some of the things you talked about in the video. I'm mostly just explaining where you may have interpreted these card incorrectly, as well as explaining some other things: - Hover-Goat is pretty mediocre. 1/3 stats are bad, but buffing before plant phase makes it so that whatever you've buffed is just going to get removed against competent decks, so there are niche scenarios where you would run it over something like Area 22 or even Loudmouth - Fire Rooster is also mediocre. It has moments where it becomes incredibly hard to control, but most heroes are able to remove it the same turn it's played. In general, Fire Rooster's difficult to keep it on the board for more than one turn, if it survives that long - Very few plants survive Fruitcake at their base stats, and even less of them are good cards. Soul Patch survives and is used competitively, but anything else is either very gimmicky or just bad - Beanstalk strategies are meme decks at best, and even the best attempts at them are really sketchy with how consistent they are competitively (although they do well on ladder for the same reason that everything else does). Lima Plueradon's ability isn't as important as Lime Plueradon being a 1-cost amphibious bean that can combo with actually important cards like Admiral Navy Bean and Jelly Bean *without* being a burden stat-wise. The fact that it can make trades with cards the same cost as it is genuinely important when zombies like Grave Robber and Cheese Cutter are ran in every deck that can fit them. 1-cost plants with the same stats as it aren't as abusable and don't have amphibious, so Lima stands out in that regard and is competitive because of that - There isn't fatigue, but you automatically lose the game if you try to draw cards with an empty deck. Very moot factor most of the time, but it matters every once in a blue moon - Go-Nuts is just 3-Nut but bad. It's heavily restricted on what it can buff, and is way less valuable when you manage to pull it off. Most team-ups have low health and overall bad stats, and Smarty isn't able to protect this card well, or at least nowhere near as well as Guardian. It just plays into Crazy too much and doesn't get a lot of value even if you somehow manage to get a lot of buffs out of it - Ketchup Mechanic is meta defining. It usually has on-curve stats and heals you for a bit, and can get a ton of value depending on the situation (eg. Pepper MD is on the board, several zombies on the board, denying lethal against aggro decks, etc.). It does brick against decks that refuse to play zombies until later, but you're usually just free to build tempo with your other cards at that point (assuming you aren't just running a pile of heal cards). You have to understand how much influence Crazy has on this game's meta, along with healing being a tool for outlasting opponents rather than it being its own strategy - Dandelion King is *really* bad. Sure, it can do a lot of damage if you're playing control, but Kabloom sucks at that due to it's weakness to gravestones and in general it's lack of good removal outside of Berry Blast. What you usually end up with is playing a 6-cost 4/4 into your opponent's well-established board. Solar Flare can run this card well, but only because the Solar class is an enabler for stalling and ramp. You could be ramping to and stalling for better cards that don't punish you for hitting your opponent Cards like Elderberry, Astrocado, and Veloci-Radish Hunters are also played on earlier turns than Dandelion and charge block meter, so you're either running both in the same deck for anti-synergy or are dropping several top-tier cards just to make Dandelion hit face more consistently. There are plenty of other problems with this card, but biggest issue is with how often just running it will screw you over and it's anti-synergy with doing the thing that makes you win; damaging your opponent's face - Wallnut Bowling is pretty inconsistent, since it can be stopped by gravestones and in general zombies, so it usually just does 12 or 6 damage (if any damage at all). Coupled with how much it costs, and you rarely see it being taken competitively. It crumbles under the reality that there are very few good ways to run plant control and even less are able to squeeze in a card as expensive as Wallnut Bowling Let me know if you have any questions :)

Tricarrotops is broken with what people call Gaurdian Package which is something almost every guardian deck uses. The package is just 4 copies of Forget-Me Nuts, Photosynthesizers, and Tricarrotops but it’s extremely strong

Zombies don't get an extra turn to do tricks, they have their turn split in half (the first half being for playing zombies, the second for playing tricks) to balance out the fact that plants can easily play around zombies due to playing their cards second (which also means that they can disrupt plays by killing zombies before the tricks phase can roll around, and also means that plant tricks cannot be stopped). Direct plant counters to zombie tricks: -Umbrella Leaf -Forget Me Nuts -Dark Matter Dragonfruit -Black Eyed Pea -Sportacus -Brainana -Primal Wallnut Direct plant counters to gravestones: -Gravebuster -Blockbuster -Grave mistake -Cool Bean

Each class has its “thing” in this game. Sneaky has Deadly, Anti-Hero and moving lanes. Beastly is mostly ways of increasing stats as well as Frenzy. Smarty is tricks, card draw, and has the ability to allow Zombie players to play zombies during the Tricks phase. Crazy is direct damage and Overshoot. Hearty is high health, armored, and is more of a tempo class. On the plants side Mega-Grow is increasing stats and Bonus Attacks making it a solid support class and is one reason Grass Knuckles and Captain Combustible are such strong heroes. Smarty is Freeze effect and Amphibious. Solar is healing and Strikethrough as well as ramp. Kaboom is swarm with Team-Up as well as high damage output. And lastly Guardian is armor, blocking, and self damage as well as being known for its strong combos like Guardian Package as well as access to one of the most broken cards in the game, Shamrocket. Brainy is easily the best zombie class with Sneaky and Crazy being behind that and then Guardian is the best Plant class with Mega Grow and Solar being strong with the former being useful in combination with another class solely for Bonus Attacks
