Lessons found in today's video: 8:38 Play doomsayer then ping bat to possibly save your hero some hp. It wastes removal anyways if it dies. 9:55 Flame torch face since Alexstrasza is coming down next turn. 10:56 Ice lance doomcaller since there is enough face damage next turn. 12:59 Ping Acolyte since card draw is more important than removing weak harvest golem. Truesilver champion could kill it too. 13:40 Play Thalnos since it gives card draw and increases threat on board if doomsayer is removed. 15:02 Ice block prevents lethal and there is 16 damage in hand so go all face with minions. 16:58 Can determine opponent is not freeze mage since they played Sorcerer's apprentice. 18:31 Kripp makes a mistake to draw cards. He needs to blizzard flame torch to clear board as Flamewaker is too dangerous to let live and he is too far from killing opponent. 20:45 There was only 2 turn lethal if he drew frostbolt or fireball. 21:19 In this heroic brawl, there really isn't going to be any crappy players. Noobs will either not have enough money to play or will quickly learn they can't survive the competition.

The problem with the heroic tavern brawl, is that it's only the rich get richer. You couldn't compete unless you already had good cards!

Jordan Burton it's actually riches get poorer because it's a net loss even with 70% win rate. Even the best player with complete card collection can not get positive return after a few runs. It's basically Blizzard's plan to suck the gold out of the riches. The poor are still poor of course, nothing can change that lol

That's a myth. The best deck right now is Midrange Shaman. You can create one in a brand new account in just 1-2 months. Even if you play an expensive control deck like some of the streamers you watched, you still need to play good AND get lucky. F.e. Kripp in this run got 9 wins. In the next run, he got what, 3 wins I think!?! And unless you get 12 wins, if you are a "rich" player, you get just a bit of extra dust. Even I have most of the Wotog cards, and I'm just a f2p player.

I do not agree with the analysis that the viewer count was due to the audience being starved for new content: I believe that it was due to the audience being starved for stakes and games that matter. Laddering does not matter to anyone anymore, which is why people love your arena-runs. People need some stakes in their games.

He only had 9 health and was facing 2 cards + a draw and a flamewaker on board. There's moderate chance that his ice block would be popped even if he froze the board. His play gave him a moderate chance of 2 turn lethal instead.

David Cox doomsayer into the blizzard would have been better, yes there is a chance if the mage pointed the fireball at the face and everything hit face his ice block would be popped but it also means the opponents board would be cleared with the mage only having 3 cards in hand while he could bring himself back to 15 health, but kripp is greedy and when gets "rekt" it is always "never lucky".

Actually, Kolento got 12 wins with warrior and Amaz got 12 wins with warlock. You can't deny that this brawl was a huge success in terms of interest and spectators. I believe it is because of the stakes. It is a great incentive to do something like this in the future, but with greater rewards.

The netdecker-topdeck'n-recker casual foaks require instant gratification in all video games. They need someone to play the game for them, and to help them win in the couple matches they play a week.

To me it was an awesome experience. The music in the loading screen made it feel more tense and it was fun to play with so much on the line. Honestly if you get 10 or more wins even once it makes up for many runs. I got 3-3, 8-3 and 9-3. The rewards were great for the last two runs but I think this brawl would feel more fair if it launched just after the new expansion and you got the new packs.

Second week in a row i skipped the Tavern brawl. I already have the cards I wanted only reason for me to do this is to try and get some gol legendaries but Im not going to pony up half the gold i have just to make a standard deck and hope to get 10+ wins vs the same couple decks over and over. Just keep coming out with crazy random brawls like unstable portals, or the summoning stone one, this is why i like the brawls to do something completely different from either Standard or Arena.

Yes players with a more complete collection might do better, but there would also be more variety in what is played (at least I'd think).

I knew it was a bad investment, and i didnt preform well at all. 3-3. But it was the most fun ive had in hearthstone so far. The stakes were so high, and i didnt expect to get even one win since i mostly never go below rank 17 in a season, so every hardfought victory i got was a huge deal to me. And playing against "real" decks with my half improvised miracle rogue was fun as fck. Also in my 6 games in this brawl every enemy was golden hero, and luckily for me i didnt play against the same deck twice, it was actually decks i havnt seen a lot before! Also i tried doing the math where 1000 gold = 10 packs = 10*40 dust. with these values i got 80% of my "investment" back with only 3 wins and the best experience so far!

well you can actually only use gold for packs, think about it. If you buy an arena run, you can get 4 things, a card, a pack, dust or gold. dust you get from discarding cards also, and you get cards from packs. and you could buy packs for gold instead of the arena run. and gold just gives you more money for an arena run or packs. and arena runs gives only stuff that you can get out of packs, except gold.

I've been hoarding gold for months now because i don't really need new packs. I've gone 4 rounds in this brawl, with one deck of my own creation, and 3 decks that are almost copies of tournament decks. I got absolutely crushed at every opportunity, half of the games were against counters with perfect answers. 3 rounds ended 2-3, the last one 1-3. Feel like killing myself, but hey, at least i got a legendairy in the last pack! My 3rd Nat Darkfisher!

This Heroic 'brawl' could be much better if everyone was able to build a deck out of the same collection. Like let everyone choose out of ALL the card possible. Would be way more fair like this and then at least the ones without a full collection could win those packs...

I would like this more if you could choose any card in the game, no matter what class or expansion etc. build a deck out of anything and then battle, that would have been well worth it.

the thing is most people don't actually get that rank 2 experience of things being super intense and i guess that's fun for them and the fact that they changed it from draw counting as a loss is kinda disappointing cos it gets rid of the high stakes aspect like i love the fact its so ridiculously hard for so little reward its like super ultra hard mode on games

Maybe next time they'll do a non-Standard set, like maybe just classic, or even just limit to one expansion with no classic cards allowed or something. That would make for something new.

Ha my experience with this brawl was playing cthun warrior and losing against a paladin with a 30 golden legendary deck some wierd handlock specificly teched against my deck and a priest also teched against my deck. The sharmans i played against and tempo mages stopped at about 4 wins then these 3 decks were what i was matched against straight after that. After reading the "matchmaking will take longer because we want to find you the perfect match" im feeling like blizzard may have set me up.

I think it would go better if the heroic Tavern brawl let you use all the cards even if you didn't have them

I hate the reward system for this type of constructed play, but it's a lot more interesting to watch and play than regular ladder for the sole reason that regular ladder is a grind before anything else, whereas this allow to test your skills in a very short period of time (of course luck is still a huge factor but still).

I don't mind them trying new things out, but they could've made a way for players who can't afford this brawl (and that's most of us) to still get a pack. perhaps for spectating a heroic tavern brawl game. huh Blizzard?

It's not just the community being starved for new HS content. I believe it gravitates more towards the fun of seeing someone having more on the line. Much like watching people gamble without having something on the line yourself. Just my opinion though

First legendary to ever craft is always rag. You can fit him into basically any deck and have positive results. Sylvanas is good too, but she is very situational.

There's more viewers because none of us want to waste money or gold on this crap. _It's a terrible value proposition!_ We'd rather spectate someone else. This is the first tavern brawl I haven't played and it's sad that Blizzard came up with such a bad deal that it basically forced me out on this one.
