I'm really confused about the Sea Giant over Fel Reaver pick. If you ignore the ability on Fel Reaver then you need 5 cards on the board for Sea Giant to be even equivalent. Plus Fel Reaver is a mech, does the Fel Reaver ability actually matter that much?

TheMrowlPie Yeah, but even in some of the best possible situations (squire -> 2 drop -> imp -> 4 drop, kill+generate imp), by turn 5 there'll be 5 minions up. So the value would be the same in except in insane scenarios.

I am, in my noted situation there'd only be 4 minions on your side and you'll probably kill their 2 and 3 drop, somehow without losing any cards. Which probably means you'll have to coin coil or something in there too. I'll probably ask him on stream to explain it, having 10 pirates doesn't suddenly make parrot good, I think he got caught up between two good cards and didn't really think about the numbers.

+Jeru Sanders Yes, Fel Reaver's ability actually does matter a lot. Many games it can go on to win unpunished, but it still can be a gamble. Sea Giant is a nice hedge. There's no chance of that card backfiring. For example, Paladin might go Peacekeeper + Healbot and then you've just lost the game. If it were Sea Giant, you keep playing. Also it doesn't seem like you realize that Sea Giant also counts the opponent's minions. As long as you have 3 or so minions (very easy for this deck), Sea Giant is going to have a healthy discount as well.

+Jeru Sanders YOU don't need to have 5 minions, sea giant counts both your minions and your opponent's minions. Also he had minions like imp gang boss (and silver hand regent to a lesser extent) that made more minions, resulting in an above average number of minions. He didn't have any mech synergy and was unlikely to get much at that point, so that wasn't much of a concern. The negative trait isn't that significant unless you're playing longer games or it gets crippled by paladin BS. Since Trump had the tools to survive into the late game (board clear and heal-bot), he didn't HAVE to rush to the finish with the Reaver. I think either choice was arguable. His particular deck made the giant better than it might be in some other drafts, but I'm sure he'd pick Fel Reaver in other circumstances (such as ones with more mech synergy and/or a more aggressive stance where a late game victory wasn't possible).

Nerdnumberone I know you don't need 5, I'm just saying you'd need 5 on the board for it to be comparable, if you don't need the tempo/aggression then you can just hold it and play it whenever of course. I'm pretty sure Fel Reaver is an objectively better pick unless you're worried about the effect.
