+Harry777 Primarily because it was bad for mana curve (would've floated a crystal). Playing the 6 (8/8 worth of stats) + fireblast (1/1 of stats) gave him way more stats on the board (9/9 vs 6/8) and he didn't need a big taunt just then. Secondarily because he still wasn't 100% sure the opponent didn't have Keeper of Uldaman, and Trump so scared of that card.

I don't know why you keep misusing the term 'fast' and 'slow' plays Trump, it confuses people. 21:12 is another example, doing the brewmaster play is the fast play there because it affects the board immediately, the 5-2-2 play was the slower play but it nets you better power on the board. Not sure why you keep using the term slow for everything that impacts the board worse than the alternative play, even when the term doesn't apply.

I guess in that case he meant in terms of tempo. there's the speed of tempo and then there's "fast/slow" in terms of how long they take to affect the board. There should really be more words to differentiate the different meanings

+Nico if he goes for the brewmaster-bomb lobber play, it means he pays 9 mana for 5/4 body with battlecry: deal 4 damage to a random minion and 3 to enemy hero. that is really, really slow compared to the 5-2-2 play that develops 8/12 worth of stats + 1 random dmg

Mark Robinson That's what I was saying. It's not about which play was better, his play was better clearly because it gives him better board in the end. But the term used is misleading, Ghifari Rahadian You're talking about two different terms, fast play and power play. Fast play does not necessarily mean the best play, it's just affects the board fast/faster. By your logic any 'best' play is a 'fast' play. Trump uses the word 'fast' for almost everything nowadays, no matter what the actual impact to the board is, as long as he sees it as a better play.

+Nico I don't think he's "misusing" the term, but I agree it can be confusing using fast/slow to refer to both cards and tempo. You can have fast/slow cards (i.e. cards that immediately impact the board and ones that take a turn) and fast/slow tempo (i.e. developing the board quickly (often at the cost of value) or slowly (often gaining additional value)). The brewmaster play is slow for tempo despite bomb lobber being a fast card.

TwiCaCaX Apparently this game plan originated from magic. But magic did this after the release of several more packs than what Hearthstone currently has. And while the idea of a huge exodus of expansions within a single year to replace the lost expansions would be. That would be a balancing nightmare (I mean it's already a balancing nightmare as wild mode is an excuse to never balance cards that aren't classic). Hopefully my information is wrong and it's one expansion each year. Even then losing expansions from this point on is losing what were slower expansions and more fair cards.

+lordguy5 Paladins usually have a lot of absurd buff cards so that's a solid move. Although I do abuse that mindset and make an all paladin deck so most trades are in my favor but that isn't in meta so it's not that big a problem.

Never ever ever ever EVER let a paladin keep something on board early on. Flame Juggler was the only real play that turn. It might not of hit, no, but it could of won you the game.

+LaZodiac I must disagree with that: It's actually safer to let a paladin keep a board turn 1-2 than turn 3-5. The strongest paladin buffs are Blessing of Kings and Seal of Champions, so you mostly play around those. Also, it depends a great deal on what the board is. - so if you have Arcane Missiles and your opponent just coin-Mustered, it's might be safer not to clear (especially if your hand suggests aggression, and/or if you have high-health taunts for turn 4). I agree with that specific situation though - If the opponent was counting on turn 3 Seal, you more or less win outright if you hit Flame Juggler, which is a high-chance scenario. And, of course, the situation that happened (however unlikely Coghammer turn 3 is, with it being an epic and the opponent only drawing 6 cards total) is generally less bad if he Flame Juggled.
