I really love this deck, the options you have for prioritizing board pressure or value is amazing. Tess might not be the best for consistency, but she certainly makes the deck worth playing if you can

Random question: Have you ever tried Witchwood Piper in Tess Rogue? Someone pulled it on me in wild, and it looked like a good idea, but it makes the 4-slot super heavy. What's your opinion on it?

What are you pipering out? That's an honest question, I don't think the idea is terrible just because piper is such a great card but I'm struggling to think of anything in particular you'd want to tutor out instead of just playing decent early game minions.

Oh right, duh. That doesn't sound worth it to me then, after you espionage most of your deck is discounted cards anyway so that just sounds generally worse than more efficient card draw and has the added downside of being weak before you set it up. When minstrel rotates it might be worth looking into but I can't imagine you'd be able to fit both and drawing two cards is better than one if my math is right.

It can lead to some big swings against classes with good minions. I've tutored out a tirion against Odd Paly to save the day tons of times, but it's also a very inefficient tempo play, so it's not always worth it. Also if you run Firefly you have a 50/50 to get firefly or a 1mana AE minion

How important is it to run double sprint in this deck? I feel it has enough draw with one sprint, usually. And Sprint is not Ultimate Infestation, which you run two of just to ensure drawing it.

It does, but so does the other sprint, as well as auctioneer. The deck has a full hand frequently enough after first Auct or Sprint. Also... Despite the name, Sprint is the opposite of "tempo".

idk, full hand doesnt necessarily mean you have sufficient good hand ,sprint is used to help refill after dumping your op 1 cost cards and helps get some spiders

Surely killing the Ziliax and not giving him free water elementals is the best option, rather than not giving him 6 health? He was always going to heal to full from the water elementals anyway. Plus he would struggle a lot more to refill the board when he can't use his hero power.

If I recall correctly, he said that if you're only running Academic Espionage for stolen cards, it's rarely good enough. You also need deadly poisons to make it good in the first place, and he doesn't feel those are worth running over other cards in the deck.

Look again. His hand filled due to the auctioneer on board. At 12:19 you can count 9 cards in hand when he played it, so he drew one card from auctioneer (arcane explosion), and then drew Aluneth, and burned the last 2 cards (notice Frozen Clone plays the burn animation rather than book of specter's discard animation).
