Why are the exterior walls in this home 2x4s instead of 2x6s? I thought all modulars had 2 x6 exterior walls?

Great question.....Some of my plans come included with the 2x6 wall.....Some of my plans come with 2x4 with the option to include 2x6. Just depends on which specific plan you are looking at. Even when the 2x6 wall is "included" you are still paying for it though. I personally like it more as an option. I don't need to include it if its not important to you!

@@carolinacustomhomes My current modular home has 2x6 walls, and they have R19 insulation, so much better for energy efficiency. I may be interested in building another modular home for our retirement home in a few years and would definitely want the 2x6 walls. Thank you for answering my question. I really like the XL option also so that the master bedroom can accommodate a king size bed and still have plenty of aisle-way room.

Really like this home and would add upper cabinets above the washer and dryer, but I would need more upper cabinets in the kitchen. Do you have a home that would give you all I see here but has a kitchen layout that accommodates more upper kitchen cabinets?
