You’ve missed out a pretty good tip. Minor countries can make a heavy cruiser with no armaments and make it a pride of the fleet so they get 5% War support.

Hardness, hardness, hardness. I can't stress enough how much is hardness important (in SP). 90+ % of enemy divisions are infantry ones with low hard attack. More hardness equal to lower casualties. Armor is also very important. You can use level 1 variants (both artillery and TD) in same way that they were used in history. To convert outdated tanks.

To be honest I really should have pointed that out too, most of the time I just recommend the piercing stats since that's what will give the largest bonus when fighting as long as you're divisions can pierce the enemy

This may sound like a stupid request but it would be cool if you could do a little "get started" video about Multiplayer. I don't mean tell me all the meta just overall how to find a good server, how it works, when is the best time to get into. I have 1k hours in the game and feel I have a good grasp on the game itself but I've never ever played mp in any paradox game before.

Not sure if it works anymore but as Japan when the game starts and you’re paused you can join the axis to start the game. If you start playing it goes away for a year or two. Join axis>declare France> naval invasion from Germany>win> get indochina attack China from two fronts

One question, when should you make a frontline? Long before declaring war or a day before declaring war?

Best tip I can give, that nobody have given out except of me (that I know), is how suppression works. For each state player can easily sum all victory points. If player uses 100 % the harshest occupation, divisions in that state should have same amount, sum, of suppression points as victory points. Cavalry battalion give 2 points, and infantry one 1 point. Victory points often goes in chunks of 5, so 3 cavalry battalions divisions are way to go. On 80 % occupation (second to harshest one) it take 2 cavalry battalion divisions. I am hoping I am clear.

That is a good idea but however I still like to throw 5 to 10, mostly because if somebody Naval invades or enemy troops get nearby your troops will start attacking anything in that zone no Matter What over and over again and if you try to attack with a 10 width or 20 width unit that will set them all off of their combat width

@@dustinl796 To stop naval invasion, you need several solid infantry divisions; but there are other options (like airpower, navalpower, mines...) Not all provinces are on the coast, and not all seas are dangerous. I like to separate my partisan suppression of my coastal defense. That is giving me flexibility; and reduces the things I have to think about. At the end HOI4 is a game, and it should be fun.

aside of sea blockades if you're in a realy bad situation on the land route for oil (also blocked) .. in my experience it's way cheaper to go for civil industry and buying oil to transform it into fuel .. than building refineries

Does the research trick not seem like a bit of an exploit? If Paradox wanted to enable us to use two research slots for one tech, they would just have released it as a feature. I'm not sure how I feel about that one. The rest was good though, particularly the use of the combine function to minimise experience dilution. Thanks.

@ 23:45 Not sure who in the development team did the research.. but the Wespe and Hummel were SP Artillery designed to keep up with the Panzer Divisions which in themselves like any other Armored Division was a logistical nightmare. Not to familiar with this game as of yet but interesting.

its because all tank stats are the same as the counterpart, for example the first medium tank or med1 has the same stats if you play germany or america unless you have upgraded the tanks through army xp or adding a armor designer to keep it balanced

I heard that super heavy tanks mixed with infantery is banned in MP, and super OP. And that selfpropelledartillery is king over artillery regarding soft attack. And is good to mix into infantery. Wont a medium SPA be super to mix with infantery to face other infantery. Rather than mixing in light SPA , raises the average armor, hardness and damage? Also MAN tank designer is easy to pick when medium tanks are researched, the political power is better used for other things than MAN designer early game.

Yeah it’s pretty insane, most mp lobies require 500 hours or more to play as a major and even then, Germany, Russia and the US are almost allways required to have 700 hours or more, and they tend to not be so tolerant of less skilled players. Though it is worth the grind imo, as mp is some of the most fun gaming I’ve ever done :))

you forgot to say that armor is also indicative of the resistance to the TYPE of dmg. Sure, it wont go versus tanks so armor wont matter much in that case but that also mean that this chassis soft % is gonna be much much higher which means its gonna be prone to soft dmg which infantry tends to do. So it comes down to the same thing and risks.

In single player I never research any tank variants I find it tedious and they offer no breakthrough which is the point of tanks, if you want an all rounder don't go for tank destroyers and spgs go for mediums, you'll achieve around 50 less soft attack and hard attack with way more armor and breakthrough. If you want to rely on one specific type of attack then go with light or heavy tanks, even heavys are good all rounders. Can someone explain why I'm wrong

Actually the point of variants is whey overlooked most of the time, tank destroyers are not made to really help you break through a tank division but instead inflict massive casualties to the enemy tanks because it updates the entire templates piercing which means you now have 10 tanks acting with the same piercing as a tank destroyer, as for the spaa it is incredibly helpful because adding between 1 to 4 based on either a 20 width or 40 width division you can totally remove the penalties you have for not having air superiority, as for the self-propelled artillery if your enemy does not have tank Destroyers you can make templates of just motorized and self-propelled artillery like I do in multiplayer sometimes and it's speeds right through the enemy divisions like nothing. Works great is the United States in Africa against Italy players LOL

@@dustinl796 I can see your point and will attempt to make use of it however for the time being I would still recommend for example a Soviet player to if they want piercing focus on heavy tanks upgraded with army xp as it is more tedious to fully upgrade all armored divisions. My problem is mainly that my pc is super slow when not fully zoomed in on an ocean tile and by 41 I'll get bored if I start micromanaging production. I have been following you for a while enough to meet you, I think your meta gaming across hoi4 is not the best. Therefore I suggest you to do guide for soviet union (for example) from players that I consider have better meta like DankusMemecus. That occupied territories menu? That's not in the game without mods. I have all the dlc. I've never seen political power involved in the act of occupying a country. I'm confused. The menu looks totally different for me. I mean I get what you're talking about at that part, but I'm just confused as to why your game looks totally different from mine. I started playing at Man the Guns. Why are your garrison divisions on the physical field and not in the menu? You're playing a different video game than I am.

half of those tips are completely useless. Yes there are different map modes. I'm pretty sure that's in the tutorial... if you are getting SPGs... why... they are so expensive. Germany and the United states are the only countries that can normally afford to. If you want the armour... do heavy 1s but only for defense. The 1 letter name thing will only work on the dumbest players who cannot read a lobby screen or forget yo right click on a country before declaring war... (you have too) the rocket stuff is also another case of extra effort. Some mods like R-56 will add extra bonuses on top of doctrine and rocketry, which could make it worth while. the factory one is a good one though. I did know about it but it seems most people don't understand that one.

A few things I want to point out, first off I wasn't using the lobby thing as a tip but instead saying that's the reason they couldn't see it on the map which is more than just the funny thing I do in games time and time, second off why would you point out the rocket artillery all you did was just agree with what I said earlier in the video pointing out in the top of your comment that it was something bad, third in the mouth moods are important and no it's not in the tutorial been using tanks or Mountaineers trying to get bonuses you can look and see where you can attack with no penalties for just having significant penalties
