When the fiddle started playing, I felt... at peace 😌

It's actually the Norwegian national anthem too :)

@@TheArrowedKnee Not sure where you got that idea. I don't hear a single note of "Ja, Vi Elsker". I should know as a Norwegian myself

Magnificent piece, and so peaceful at the end with the Swedish keyed fiddle or nyckelharpa as it's called.

Is it? I kind of assumed it was a hardangerfele with the whole norwegian national anthem theme but now you mention it it could be a nyckelharpa

This may seem really random, but I was playing a Stellaris game as a democracy turned totalitarian regime, and I sent some of my fleets into an easy win, to fight against a smaller and less numerous force This force’s nation barely has any land left, and recently lost a fleet battle leading to their last stand being in a system named Klendath And well, my fleets were fighting them, while this song was playing, at very slow, and I couldn’t help but root for them. It may be concluded I’m taking this too seriously, but to Imagine… your nation (and your “god” for they are a religious democracy) is fighting against this invading force after separating during a civil war, and here you desperately fight against the odds, to cling onto what little you have left. With one of the, if not *the* only piece of your nation left, and here you are… watching an overwhelming horde barrel to you, with certain defeat in mind And yet, even though they were much weaker, they won. They held off the horde I sent to them, and I wasn’t even mad. They held the line, and even if it is merely one battle, even if they cannot fight again… Well, everyone will remember the battle of Klendath as where democracy dies, not with a whimper, but with a glorious battle Or, if the odds weren’t so overwhelming, maybe where tyranny dies in democracy’s stead…

The composer is a GENIUS, this is a real masterpiece! I sense some uplifting and "pulsating" Hans Zimmer - Tennessee vibes. I was tentative about DLC purchase but when I listened to this and the Scandinavian Summer suite, it was a no-brainer to pull the trigger for the music alone.
