Well yeah. Until recently, pretty much all gay representation in film and TV was either camp as comic relief, or tragic. How were we supposed to identify (positively) with that? So seeing positive, healthy representation now is kinda cathartic for us.

@@RickyReviews Have a look at Toby Donovan's vlogs from the series near the end. As they wrap characters they fold over the photos. As he pans past "Sarah Nelson" you can see they put a different name up because he was vloging to hide the real name. I couldn't tell if it was a fake photo too (he panned to quickly).

I heard Nick's mom's voice and I thought immediately that sounds just like Olivia Colman and the moment they showed it was her I screamed like a child. This series is one of the best shows ever! The most heartwarming shows I have ever seen in my life.

My son got me to watch this show, told me Olivia Coleman and Stephen Fry (headmaster making announcements) were in it. Love it. Things were very different when I was bisexual growing up in the 70's. Love your reactions, too.

Since you mentioned QAF, heard that the 2022 remake will be released on June 9 on Peacock with much more diverse cast than the US original. can't wait to see it since QAF is such a superior show and of course, I hope I can see the 2022 QAF reaction video on your channel >< btw, I just finished all episodes of Heartstopper and it's so cute. really hope that they'll announce about ss2 as soon as possible. When I was a kid, we had Billy Crystal as Jodie Dallas in Soap and ... No, that was it. We had Soap. And some "very special episodes" as the 80s and early 90s progressed. There were a few actually regular queer characters over the years, like Billy Douglas (played by Ryan Phillipe) on One Life to Live, or Jack McPhee (played by Kerr Smith) on Dawson's Creek, as far as young high school queer representation went, but they were extremely few and far between. It's SO much better now.
