Tao lashes out at Charlie because he was the last to know when he already had the understanding that Nick was “straight” and Charlie was just crushing on him. Their friendship has been thinning and changing; he just is having difficulty gaging these changes on top of him finding out about Charlie’s relationship with Nick from Elle, not he himself. Tao was hurt and lashed out at the wrong person. I know it’s frustrating because we, the audience, have a bigger knowledge about how things are that it’s difficult to understand Tao when he’s causing drama and being another “problem.” I guess things with Tao are run deep is because they were best friends for several years long before Elle and maybe even Issac. I think it’s a bit more nuanced and definitely need to see the (season 🤞) finale.

I have to defend Charlie in the Tao situation. Charlie isn’t the one that told anyone. He was letting Nick tell people when he was comfortable with them knowing.

I am obsessed with this show too! I've watched it several times, and love watching others react to it on YT (like you!) It is such a beautiful story. Great representation. As an older gay man in the midwest, I would have loved to see something like this growing up. I had nothing. No internet to Google what I was feeling. No understanding parents. No understanding friends. It was hard and confusing. I hope this younger generation appreciates what they have now - while not perfect - it's so much better than it was. This show gives me hope. Love is love!

Tao is upset cause he’s Charlie best friend. He’s been friends with him longer than Elle and Isaac and Tao was the only person around when he was bullied the previous year. A lot of Tao’s antagonism towards nick is that he doesn’t want Charlie to be back in that dark place like he was last year, and nick is from a group similar to the people who bullied him. Tao has been purposefully responding to Harry to protect Charlie, you’ll notice Tao is quick to run up when he sees Charlie alone talking to Harry. He’s been doing that all season, and he feels like Charlie doesn’t care that he’s been trying to protect him. He feels like Charlie has been hanging out less and growing more distant and nail in the coffin is that he is the only one who doesn’t know that Charlie is in a relationship. Tao just feels really hurt that Charlie didn’t trust him or didn’t feel like they were close enough to tell him. No saying I agree with his thoughts, but this is why he’s hurt and angry. Excited to see you react to the next episode!!

I love Tao. He tends to be a little bit dramatic sometimes, but he is a loyal and protective friend And he is afraid of losing his friends - Elle left the school and Charlie hangs out with Nick - that is so relateble. I love his smart and strong respond to Harrys bullying. And I totally get that he got angry because Charlie didn't tell him about Nick. Charlie is his best friend - and to find out that everybody knew before him would have made me angry, too.

It was never 100% confirmed that that morning when Tao was too loud was the thing that outed Charlie...but yeah, that's what everyone else THINKS happened, for sure. It's not a bad guess...but yeah, They don't know this with 100% certainty.

@@digby3618 I don't follow Alice's socials so maybe they confirmed it there...I don't know. but it absolutely wasn't confirmed 100% true in the comics....it was only ASSUMED to be true but there's really no way of knowing THAT incident was the only reason word spread...not with 100% certainty. But it is the reason we are given...so I guess we can take it as fact. It's what charlie believes, anyway. I don't really care tbh. Tao should have shut the fuck up about it in public where people could have the potential to hear, regardless.

Tao is like that since last year, it's implied that the rugby team were the ones bullying Charlie. That's why he is so overprotective with him. Since Nick entered Charlie's life, Tao was afraid that he was playing with him, kinda like Carrie. In fact that's why Charlie cries after the first kiss! Harry's timing was unfortunate since he calls Nick and Charlie was like "oh fuck no I was played" but we know it's not that. After that, Nick is figuring out who he is and Charlie it's figuring out if there's something real between them, specially since their relationship resembles (in a tiny part) to Ben. So the big deal, really, it's miscommunication and fear of being harm, from Charlie, Nick and Tao. Also there's a huge thing about Tao but I guess it will be explored in further seasons (hopefully). Besides that, I'm with you! I am a gay man in my early 30's and it's been such a beautiful series that I can't stop watching it. I wished more (gay) series/movies were like this. It gets really tiring that all that we have is always the same: overly gloom and depressing characters with hypersexualized scenes, mixed with stereotypes. This feels so cute and pure and really, a fresh breath of air

I was a "live" witness when someone fell in love with the characters. I'm a "creepy old bisexual comic book nerd", who wanted to show his heterosexual wife ONE episode from a show based on a GN he owns and loves. After the first episode she was like: another one couldn't hurt... During the third episode she was already giving advice at the TV screen... We binged the entire show cuddling and in tears. Now she is one big Nick&Charlie fangirl... and radiated happines the day I told her, there would be seasons 2&3

If we need to start a support group I’m happy to join. I’m right there with you on the obsession piece. I’ve watched the show probably between 15 to 20 times not including probably 8 to 10 different reaction videos including your own. I find myself looking at Twitter a lot and seeing what the cast is posting as well as all of the fan sis that have created on Twitter. I think I am fully blown obsessed and need to seek psychiatric attention. Actually one of the reaction videos I watched is by a gay British psychiatrist so I guess he’s providing me with free therapy. Thank you for your wonderful and candid videos I loved him tremendously 🙏❤️

Tao is so shitty to Charlie in this episode. I wonder if it's because Tao's really struggling with his feelings for Elle. He knew Elle before she transitioned, when she was still a "he" struggling to be themself, and part of their little gang of close-knit misfits, then Tao saw how much Charlie suffered for being gay... Looking for excuses because Tao really made me angry this episode.
