FYI, I'd love to include the full, unedited trailer in this video, but Netflix loves to copyright claim me when I do that (thus demonetizing the video). I've done my best to give you as much of the trailer as I could, though, and you can always go watch it for yourself if you want to see the full version - it's linked in the description! ❤

I had literally told my sister, "I bet we're gonna get a shot of the cucumbers and c0nd0m$ being plopped down onto the table, the music is gonna pause, and the flash up to their faces in the trailer," AND I WAS RIGHT 🤣

I would guess that Nick's "Hi Charlie" is maybe when he visits him at the hospital for the first time. It's most likely not at the beach, since they already have been hanging out all day and he sounds a bit nervous/serious which is obviously unlike him.

Adding a second comment.😂 I’ve been stressed out that they weren’t going to renew for season four, but seeing this trailer gives me some hope. Before season three of Young Royals came out we knew that it was the last season and that’s how they were advertising it. I really hope the reviews for season three are as good as the last two seasons and that we get the conclusion in season four that Alice. Let’s hope Kit and Joe’s stellar careers don’t price them out. 😂😂

I've watched the trailer at least 20 times and Nick crying on the beach destroys me every single time. This season is going to be so emotional.

That scene with the aunt (Mom in the comics) is so important for young people. We can put so much pressure on ourselves to help those we love through mental health issues, but we can't do it by ourselves and we are not professionals

I've just seen on twitter someone pointed out that Charlie's birthday cake looks like the cover of Volume 5 - that's why the stars look like American cheese - that's british fondant shaped and coloured to the exact star/sparkles on the cover of the book. Now I've said sparkles and I remember that Alice uses them to denote arousal or sexual feelings in book 5. Huh

So excited for the new season and it looks JAM-PACKED with excellent content from the comics so beautifully done and then new and interesting perspectives. Also super-excited that it will bring with it amazing new Heartstopper content and in-depth analysis from you Thom!

Couldn’t wait to see your reaction!! I found your channel after s1 & 2 and I’ve properly binged all your videos in the last few months ha! I have never been big on KZbin HS reactions bc I felt like a lot of reactors didn’t take it seriously enough or didn’t feel the depth of emotion that I feel watching it, but your channel is one in a million. You clearly “get it” and love it, and your analysis is always so spot on. I can’t wait to see your reactions to s3 (signing on to patreon now). Thanks so much for all the time and effort you take to make these videos. It feels like being with a friend. 💙💛

It was a very beautiful trailer. Everyone stepped up to the plate and that’s on ensemble acting and great filmmaking. P.S. I made many ‘Heartstopper’ themed wallpapers. P.P.S. The ‘Ahhhhh’ at the end was relatable

I AM SO HYPED!!!! I did not expect such a good full trailer with everything they've already shown. Best part that made me so excited is that WE ARE GETTING THE MANNORCA SCENE!!!! I was so wary about us not getting such an amazing scene, and even without Oliva i can already tell that scene will be just as amazing. Watching the trailer again has me so happy and bubbly (im gonna be so obnoxious when it comes out) Very excited to see them delve into Issac's story more being surrounded by all these couples in the group taking the next step. Was also so surprised but very excited that they show and talk about Elle's dysphoria. I'm sure a lot of trans youth will appreciate them showing that it's ok to be scared and take your time, ALSO COMMUNICATING THE WHOLE TIME. *chef's kiss* Just beautiful. I never connected seeing Nick in Charlie's "safe space", it really does say a lot that Nick can enter that space and just give extra comfort to Charlie even if he can't do anything. We are all going to be emotional messes during Charlie's journey through mental health alonside Nick's coressponding journey of pain and accepting he can't hold every burden himself. It's gonna be agonizing waiting for October 3rd, and then eternal agony after watching it lol

Awesome reaction as always! I have a small theory on the Imogen/Sahar sad eyes exchange. At the end of the season there were definitely some sparks as Imogen watched Sahar play, and it’s established that Sahar is bisexual and that they used to have a close friendship. Given the themes of the show, I wonder if this will be an opportunity for Imogen to explore her identity. This could go a number of ways that could involve that sad interaction. Maybe Imogen will realize she isn’t queer and it will hurt Sahar and leave her feeling guilty. Maybe Imogen will put her foot in her mouth as she is wont to do, and Sahar will reject her, maybe thinking that Imogen is a straight girl just wanting to experiment, and Sahar won’t have time for that. I think it would be interesting to explore something like that where they model a straight person exploring their sexuality, but ultimately realizing that they are straight. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy if everyone ends up being queer, lol. But I just think it would be an interesting thing for this show to explore and model.

Awh that was beautiful and also scary at the same time (and I'm saying that as someone who read the comic, thoughts and prayers to those who don't know what they're getting into). Nick crying at the beach broke me and I haven't even seen the full scene yet. I really like that whilst Alice always keeps the story hopeful, they write the serious topics without sugar-coating it. Btw you were right, it's hard to open up to people when you're struggling with a mental illness, but it's also hard when they make you sound like an attention-seeker.

I was completely fine and having a fun time watching the trailer until they showed the shot of Nick crying and I just completely lost it. He loves Charlie with everything in him so seeing him hurting because Charlie’s hurting and all that fear in his eye of losing him is just incredible acting from Kit. But going off of that, as much as I absolutely love and adore Nick, I do think this season should be focused more on Charlie as both seasons 1 and 2 were VERY Nick centered. Not that that’s a bad thing in any way, but I really want them to explore and expand Charlie’s character and the growth we see from him in the comics especially

The trailer looks really good, wow. I watched it 3x. Is it just me or does nick look more like how he did in season 1 vs super buff in season 2? I think he looks great and his huge muscles reminded me of how insecure *some* fans made him feel. I think it’s wise to include some of Elle’s dysphoria as her relationship w Tao progresses. It would be unrealistic to not imo. Sad Olivia Coleman isn’t in the show and I just heard that Euros Lyn isn’t directing it either, but still part of the team. :/ Sorry to end on a negative note.

For me, if I were to sum up Heartstopper in one word, it would be trivial. It's a lighthearted romance story between a nerdy gay boy and an athletic bi boy in their late teens, surrounded by some secondary story lines. It is a positive story overall, which is fine - not everything has to be about queer misery. And there are some gems here and there. Nick being bi is a good middle finger in the face of people who say bisexuality is not real. Charlie's experiences with an eating disorder, driven more by his traumas and a need for a sense of control rather than body image issues, is a very important issue. Elle's experiences and her relationship with Tao is great as it shows a trans girl of colour in a relationship with a cis guy in a modern high school setting. But it does have pathetic sides. For example, a key message in the first season about Nick is "Masculine guys can be gay too.". This is nothing new. People are getting acquainted with this idea as cis gay male athletes come out. And even if people aren't familiar with it, it's a very mundane message. Both cishet people and most cis gay men already have way more respect for masculine gay men than for feminine gay men. I am not flamboyant, but I am also not masculine. On behalf of my feminine friends and myself,I hate it when that message is delivered as if it is some brand-new discovery and as if masculine gay men don't have it easier when both dealing with general society (at work, at the supermarket, at the bar) and in the dating scene. There is limited representation of feminine gay men without them being the butt of jokes. And that little message of the series does gloss over this problem.
@thom_is_trans2 ай бұрын
All I can say is that it's the absolute opposite of trivial for myself and a lot of other people. I'm sorry to hear you don't connect with it as much (and your complaints about the lack of feminine gay rep are definitely valid), but please keep in mind that just because it doesn't resonate with you personally, that doesn't mean it isn't incredibly important for a lot of others.
@ThatsMyUsborneBook2 ай бұрын
I would say this is not a mundane message for the target demographic for the show who were aged 12+ in the first 2 seasons. This could may well be the first time they, and their straight parents have ever encountered what is common in the gay dating scene. Presumably teens are not aware of some of these concepts yet. As with the characters in the show - this is all about firsts. And this is represented through their contemporaries not adult athletes.
@emreberk31872 ай бұрын
I hadn't thought of firsts - you make a good point

Am I the only one who finds Nick poking Charlie in the cheek just weird? Yes, in the graphic novel Nick does it a bunch, but he’s not just poking Charlie in the face, he’s poking Charlie’s dimples, which he’s obsessed with. But Joe doesn’t have dimples, so without them it just seems like a really odd thing to do. There was a moment in Paris when they are alone in the hotel room where Nick pokes at Charlie’s cheeks as well, and it seemed odd then too. I don’t see why they feel the need to keep this in.

I think it's pretty cute, even with the absence of Joe Dimples (TM), but I can definitely understand feeling that way!

Why did you edit the trailer, why not watch it completely then break it down. Strange way to react to a trailer.
