The NF Journey.... It's a good one. NF Connects his music with visuals, lyrics and even with the various notes. These connections stretch over multiple albums and it shows how creative NF is. NF has more talent than 99% of the artists today.

I tell everyone to give themselves grace and that no ones perfect. That you have a journey and things happen throughout the journey until you get to your destination. I don't allow myself the same grace. I'm special, I shouldn't make mistakes, I'm not allowed to show my pain.
@HeartSupport
@HeartSupport 6 ай бұрын
From Micro: @stevedave3337 Yea, it's hard to have the same grace for ourselves as we would with others. You can see yourself believing genuinely in a certain amount of principles, and truths, but finding it particularly difficult to apply to the way you view yourself and your life. It's challenging to extend out compassion to ourselves when we feel like we don't deserve it somehow, that we need to treat ourselves differently because what applies to others, wouldn't apply to us. What you describe makes completely sense, and I'm sure a lot of people out there have experienced something similar. I include myself in it. Which may not reduce the depth of the struggle, but at least highlights the fact that this is, in itself, a struggle and profoundly human experience - not an indication of how bad or broken we may think we are. One thing is to know something as being true on the paper, but it's another process to *experience* this in your own life, body and mind. You can know in theory that you are worthy and don't need to be perfect, yet in practice finding yourself in conflict with everything you've learned about yourself, what you were told, your story as a whole. It's easy to maintain a compassionate outlook for others as it doesn't involve the way we feel about ourselves. To me personally, this duality has often made me feel like I would a hypocrite - preaching things to people I love without applying it to myself. But I was reminded many times that it's just an expression of how complex it is to be human. I think something very strong and positive in your message is that you are aware of this duality at play. You're not lying to yourself or just surrendering to the pressure you may put on your shoulders. You experience it, but you are *also* sitting on the passenger side and observes how all of this is functioning, and where the gears may not be oriented the right way - in the sense that it may not be serving you as it should, to unleash your potential and embrace the good that this life has to offer you. "I shouldn’t make mistakes", "I’m not allowed to show my pain", "I'm special" so the rules I apply to others don't apply to me... these are things you have learned, one way or another. Thankfully though, it can be unlearned too, progressively. There is a point when you can learn to recognize the patterns that are an expression of your pain, of your story, while also learning to detach yourself from it if it doesn't serve you. For you *know* already firsthand how it feels to surrender to these thoughts and principles, and that somehow there is nothing to lose for trying differently, little by little. Even if it's awfully scary and challenges our perception of what is safe for us. If anything, I see your strength and beauty. I see you. And I believe in your ability to move towards a path where you'll learn to change this narrative. You are a human being who has the right to be imperfect, broken, vulnerable - while being respected at all times. You deserve to show up to yourself the way you show up to the people you love and care about. :heart:

NF is a man of faith. His faith helps carry him through. The more good that you do for God's kingdom the harder the attacks from the destroyer of souls. Mental health is vital but the condition of ones soul is equally important. I have seen the worst of the worst become saints that constantly save lives. Complete turnarounds.

I have listened to this song for years now. I have watched other videos of rappers breaking down the lyrics. I have NEVER heard somebody break it down as well you just did. Your comment on the perception of movies goes way deeper than anyone else ever has and that was a huge light bulb moment for me. Thank you. I actually cried watching your breakdown because you just pulled new revelations out of me. Thank you.

Gotta add my voice to the pile of people down here in the comments asking you to keep going down the NF Rabbit Hole, this man's music played a HUGE role alongside therapy in my own recovery following a su*cide attempt. His whole discography is an INCREDIBLE journey and I would love to hear your thoughts on as much of it as you're willing to cover. (Also Ren - I found his music much later but Ren and NF are both incredible artists in their own right that I will never get tired of hearing people talk about)

I've been commenting for you to look at NF. So glad you have and what I love about your reaction is you hit major points right off the bat. He's cinematic. Him and his producer and even his videographer have been together since the beginning and all have grown so much from when they first started. You'll learn he goes by Nate and people refer to him as such and one thing Nate talks about is the fact that he's always loved movies and story telling so you'll find his music is very cinematic and big and he uses alot of piano and strings. He's said one of his favorite movie personalities is Christopher Nolan who did the Christian bale batman and also did inception so you'll get those types of beats and references throughout his discography. But you'll also find that going back and listening to the NF journey will help you learn more about how everything fits in his videos. His whole music selection is meant to tell a story and even when you think a song doesn't fit his journey, you'll learn it actually does play a big role in how his music has molded into the sound you now hear. You've found a big artist to help build your page and your message and I hope you dive in further whether it's actually taking the journey as it's intended or if you bounce around. I'm here for it!

So I wanna start by saying I love this song as I relate to it so much. I'm 29 and have been doing live on my own since I was 15. I've struggled with a severe chronic depression as long as I can remember and have always felt like my life has been a search, for a place to belong, peace of mind and in general a better life than I had yesterday. I'm 29 years old grew up with military men and rough necks. I cried when you put together the part of being cinematic and and a search and the difference between reality and a movie I can't thank you for making me feel like I'm not the only one who sees this in life.

One of my favorite quotes is from this song. "The point I'm making is the mind is a powerful place, and what you feed it can effect you in a powerful way" PURE GOLD you should do WHY soon, Nate with a black smile represents fear and lays down on a swing at the end of WHY like how that one girl in white laye down on the swing in this music video. When he says "look at me everybody I'm smiling big!" during The Search, it's really the fear that everyone is seeing that took over him.

I've heard this song a hundred times and I don't know if this is bc of where i am in my life right now. But I'm in the gym working out and your breakdown has tears streaming down my face. I have been in this self destructive pattern financially, with my health, with my relationships for 40 years. This hit so hard and I'm realizing I can't do this by myself. I'm not getting anywhere
@HeartSupport
@HeartSupport 6 ай бұрын
From bmao: @thew.i.s.ecommunity7986 Hey, thank you so much for opening up and being so open with us. First, I just want to give you a big congrats for going to the gym and working out. I know that personally, working out is huge for my mental health, along with my physical health. I'm able to clear my brain, focus on myself, and feel good about what I've done for the day- so major props to you on that aspect. I'm sorry that you've found yourself in this pattern for so long. It may almost feel like whenever good starts to come and whenever you begin to build a streak of happiness, you are just waiting for yourself to tear all of your progress back down. That often leaves us feeling like our own worst enemy. I want you to know that you are not the enemy here. Your realization of "I can't do this by myself", is very poignant and can be so hard to cope with, but I think truth lies at the root of it. We as humans were not created to live a life of solitude. We are social creatures who rely on interconnectedness and meaningful relationships to thrive. Society often heaps pressure on us to fully bear our own cross and get through life without assistance. But that is not the life we were created for. We were created to lean on each other, build each other up, and be each other's support system. So I would encourage you to reach out and be vulnerable with others in your life. And if you feel like you don't have anyone in your life, I want you to know that you have every one of us here at HeartSupport. We care about you and are always here to walk through anything you may be dealing with. I hope this realization helps you turn a new page in your life; a page that details self-fulfillment, empowerment, and betterment rather than destruction. No habit is too old to break, and I know that you can find happiness for yourself and peace in your actions. We love you and care for you. We wish you nothing but the best and we will be here for you for anything you may need.

From runner12: @thew.i.s.ecommunity7986 Thank you for reaching out! Im sorry you’ve been stuck in a self destructive pattern. I understand how that can feel hopeless and frustrating, but it’s a great sign that you were in the gym working out! Just taking one step in the right direction can shift our whole momentum! So often the first step is the most difficult because it can seem impossible and overwhelming, but once we move, even just the tiniest bit in a new direction, we’ve interrupted the self destructive pattern. How do you feel after working out? Do you notice it helping your thoughts? When I feel trapped, working out really helps once I get started. My favorite saying is “ We don’t have to feel good to get started, but we have to get started to give ourselves a chance at feeling good.” You’ve taken steps by going to the gym and by reaching out here and realizing you can’t do it alone! That’s something to be proud of! You are not alone and there is so much hope for you! Total Change may not happen overnight but we have to celebrate every step forward because life is hard! But each time you choose to work out or reach out you are defeating the darkness and self destruction and it keeps getting easier.I promise you it’s worth it. I encourage you to celebrate each step and be proud of recognizing that you want to change! You gave support here and I’m behind you 100%!

From sangasugarbog: @thew.i.s.ecommunity7986 I appreciate you reaching out, it takes a lot of strength and courage to do that. It's so easy to bring ourselves down, it seems as if it's of nature for humans to self-destruct. It's almost satisfying to spend ourselves out to bring a sense of temporary fulfillment, but unfortunately, it doesn't last, so we keep repeating our habits. I promise that this will not last. While it may seem that you are not getting anywhere, I ensure you that you are growing, and making progress. Everyone's growth is different, unique, and individual. We are all here for you, and we all love you. Keep shining your bright light, I believe in you :heart:

Idk if you picked up but his actually talking with his alter personality that is depression, traumas, ocd, anxiety and panic attacks and those all together becomes that alter personality that is constantly trying to pull him under. Nates self reflection skills are so good and how he brings so much of it out on his songs is just perfect, man knows how to tell a story too. Also Nate won't release anything if it's not perfect for his own standard and that's actually holding him so much back sometimes.

him pointing to his head and calling it his house... is actually also a call back to his song Mansion. Where he explains how his mind is like a mansion. Look up the NF journey, it's a list of his songs where you can follow him along his mental health journey. It's a ride and one that helped me so much.

You referenced the movies and their sequels.....we'll that is the whole NF Journey if you so choose to take it. I'm 52 yrs old and in 2019 I stumbled upon NF after coming through getting clean off of heroine and I can't even tell you how much take that Journey helped me. I also battled mental illness my whole life and I wished there would have been an artist around when I was a teenager that I could have related to like I can with him as I do now at my age. I never thought that at my age I would find such a love for hip hop but I have. Take the entire Journey from the beginning his story is so emotional and relatable....Nate is one of the most REAL artist I think that I've ever known and I find myself looking g up to how in touch he is with his feelings and the fact that he can express things in ways to this day I still haven't been able to express the way that Nate does. He is truly a beautiful soul and he has made me feel accepted in my own headapace or house as he puts it which his song Mansion will completely explain.

The movie analogy made me think about how when you’re worried that the characters are going to die, you just see that there is more movie. We have to remember that we also have more time in our movie.

That whole album is a therapy session from NF. Another NF song, it's an older one, but it's called "How Could You Leave Us." It's about his mom overdosing when he was a child, NF has since forgiven his mom, but it's a great song!

So, commenting on the cinematic congruency... that's the genius of Tommee Profitt. His resume and discography are insanely good. His Christmas album is top tier. You're welcome in advance
