What's interesting about Silent Planet is Garrett the vocalist was actually training to become a mental health specialist before joining the band.

Wasn’t he in a mental institution when writing some lyrics for Iridescent?

Came for the Silent Planet, ended up finding my new favorite reaction channel lol. I LOVE that you use your training in psychology to dig into metal songs. It’s a genre that’s profoundly misunderstood by the mainstream, and Silent Planet is a shinning example of the lyrical depth and emotional catharsis that it has to offer. It’s saved my life on multiple occasions and I’m so happy that it exists in all it’s weird, unique, and bombastic ways. I’d love to see your take on some Fit for an Autopsy! Or some ALLT! Liked and subscribed. Cheers!

I will not be missing any more of your videos. Your explanations are so spot on and well thought out. Garrett is such a great writer and has the ability to say things in a way I wish that I could. Looking forward to seeing more of these.

I literally just listened to this song and band for the first time yesterday and I LOVED it!! So glad I found this channel and to hear this perspective and better understand these lyrics!!

Mate. Enjoy their earlier stuff. For the majority of their songs, Garrett also has full track by track walkthroughs up on KZbin explaining what the lyrics are all about 👌 But enjoy. They're elite. 🤌

Literally my initial reaction when I heard Garrett sing lol. So unexpected with the direction of their sound on this track, but it’s such a banger 🔥

I do NLP, Hypnosis, and TLT and yes these lyrics are 💯🔥 a lot of people don't realize that there's a lot of metal bands out there with extremely profound messages. I think of them as memes camouflaged as music🧠🫀🔥🤘 Also your interpretation and breakdown is awesome! I most definitely agree! We are the gatekeepers of universal expression🔥💚🙏

I just found your channel and talking about hard hitting deep lyrics, I can wholeheartedly recommend you to check out Bury Tomorrow if you haven't already! The lead vocalist, Daniel Winter-Bates goes and talks alot about mental health and everyday struggles with other people. Such an amazing, beautiful and wholesome band all around. DEATH (Ever Colder) would be great way to start your Bury Tomorrow journey!

Such an unexpected track, really takes you by surprise when it hits and blends with the electronic beats. Very powerful song as expected with Garett writing the lyrics. Keep up the great work Taylor, amazing to see someone using their skills and eduction in psychology to interpret metal music. Many people seem to think metal is just screaming and that there couldn’t be something deeper buried within its sound.

I think the lyrics are about how 2 people who aren't compatible will destroy each other.

It’s funny you mentioned kintsugi. I know you love holding absence and their album The Noble Art of Self Destruction came out last Friday. The last song on the album, titled The Angel in the Marble, would be absolutely PERFECT for you to react to. It’s about kintsugi and the lyrics are absolutely beautiful, talking about how we break ourselves and out ourselves back together again to become who we are. Please please do a reaction to this song 🖤🖤

Not sure if you’ve done Panic Room or Trilogy, but those would both be fascinating to analyze. The former is about panic disorders and PTSD and the latter was written by Garret when he was in a mental institution. 😮

@HeartSupport I have been struggling recently. I've been doing a lot better this past year than I was the 15 years prior. On the days when all I want is relief, I wonder why I was born this way and why I have to deal with this lifelong struggle.

From ManekiNeko: I’m glad you’ve been doing better, but I’m so sorry to hear that there is inner turmoil. It’s always hard to navigate and find relief at times. I hope no matter what you’re going through that you know that you are loved and valued. You have a place here, and I hope that as you progress your heart and mind will ease from those thoughts. Sending you love

From Taladien: I am so glad to hear that you have been doing better this year! Progress can come in many forms. Some days may feel like a step back, other days like a leap forward. But knowing how far you've come is great. It helps so much seeing all that road behind you, on those days that steps forward seem hard. You got this, friend.

From twixremix: hey friend, i know the growth of having this past year be better than the 15 years prior took a lot of hard work and perseverance - we’re all celebrating this accomplishment alongside you! and when it comes to the days that are harder, how are some ways you can care for your heart? are there healthy things that reliably spark joy and offer a distraction for you like listening to music or art, for example?
@HeartSupport Жыл бұрын
From Mamadien: Thank you so much for sharing so honestly. If you have been struggling for 15 years and working toward healing - I want to say that you must be very strong, persevering and patient. Truly that is remarkable that you are continuing to work and care for yourself and to strive toward health over time. That takes strength! Yeah, it seems there are still always going to be those days that make us feel like we are stepping back wards but your forward process sounds huge. May you have the strength and peace to keep working through those not so good days.

From Lisalovesfeathers: Hey Friend, I am sorry things are getting a bit tough again after a good year last year, It really is so hard when you really try to make things good and sometimes they just arent but I guess we and I say we because like so many here I too have mental health issues and I too have to manage good and bad times although we are all of course very different, one way I try to manage to try to not feel separated from others is to think how everyone has good and bad days, every single person in this world gets bumps in their roads whoever they are, it just feels so personal when your mental health is not feeling so great. I truly hope that soon it will start to pick up again. We are here for you and have your back. Lisa. x
