The depression in this song is so strong I can physically feel it

True. So imagine how deeply Chris was feeling it.

Even it isn't depression was what you physiclly feel, t’s the raw weight of that melancholy that with anxiety and overwhelmed feels layering themselvesonto you, settling in your lap, wrapping around you, feel that massive mass and complicatel freezed cant do nothing or anything about it But as those emotions rise to the surface and you release them, it becomes a refreshing, liberating human experience. Like a bittersweet journey that brushes against the edges of mortality, yet feels soothing-a quiet catharsis, both grounding and uplifting.rel. (When you had a really tiny closely enough something to experience a bite of that depression what it is taste like.. man ..you gonna realize, that's what was told about was so accurate but it's really that hard to comunicate what a hell was it to a person who never experienc it)
@32a34a17 күн бұрын
@@krisztiankorosi7752 Just one problem with that description. Some people cannot lift depression. It just isn't possible. What I have learned is that when the weight is that heavy one has to find a way to take that gorilla off their back and turn it into as small as a monkey as possible and put it in a backpack. This way that weight is much easier to carry. I only know because of my personal experience in trying to assimilate into society after spending 16 of my first 21 years in state institutions. It is something as human beings we need to try more often. Some people sadly cannot ease their depression,anxiety etc and resort to extreme measures to end their pain. For me personally I don't think one can ever get rid of whatever mental anguish they are suffering from. No matter how well you get or even progress there will always be crumbs lying around and this is where sometimes we think we have purged our suffering but in reality we haven't. We need to continue to make sure that whatever issues we deal with that we continue to deal with those crumbs so they don't take hold of us again.

I can agree on that it has one problame, it was misunderstundable, becouse i didn't wana act like a profession of depression even i was 100% say that what Chriss was faceing is not depression. But if i listen that song, that is not depression what i hear. If he was singing about. He would like to do it right now, because he k ows it is going to be easy and better for us after 4 days of laying in one position in the bad and that was hard enough to make him shamed to make a big smile act happy to everybody and go and do it without hasitate. This song is very haunting to listen to after his death. It's essentially about him waiting for death and Chris Cornell was known to suffer from depression, so to know years ago that he wrote a song like this about waiting for death to come and take him leaves me with a very sad feeling. The song is beautiful, but it takes on even more weight after his tragic passing. RIP Chris Cornell...such a legendary voice.

That's why I was heartbroken, but not surprised. If I'm remembering correctly, even his brother was apposed to the lawsuit because it disrespected the struggle Chris went through. It reminded me that I wasn't alone, and that this is a disease. I thought that, if a man I can admire so much can feel the same pain that I feel, then maybe there's more to me.

I don't know why but I always pictured him in a hotel and I think it;s because of this : where are hotels usually built, By a freeway I confess What's generally always in hotel rooms : I was lost in the pages Of a book full of death Reading how we'll die alone And if we're good, we'll lay to rest Anywhere we want to goAnd on my deathbed I will pray To the gods and the angels Like a pagan to anyone Who will take me to heaven ~~ A Bible To a place I recall I was there so long ago The sky was bruised The wine was bled And there you led me on In your house, I long to be and I always thought that before May 2017 :(

I have a rare variant of chronic depression. One day i had had enough of it all. Started walking to a ravine i knew, about 50 min walk from my house. I had thought of it a good place to go drop my body so that it'd not disturb anybody. On my way there, about 5 min left from there, i passed by a bar. The bar started playing this song the exact moment i walked by it, which i thought was funny in many levels. For one, is my favorite song because it depicts the feeling to perfection. Chris knew what my pain was like because he felt it too and he chose to show it through his music. For another, it was the day i was going to die, so the song was fitting too as my last listen. I sat next to the bar to listen to the whole song. After it ended i didnt get up immediately but sat there for a while, then took a nap right there in the middle of the sidewalk on my own. After I woke up, i turned 180° and walked back home. So there goes one more layer of "funny" to this event: the song that talks about patiently waiting for death, prolonged my life. It's been 8 years. The universe has a sense of humor if anything lol

If you’ve never watched Doctor Who, you may not understand the reference I’m making. When Bill Nighy’s character talks about Van Gogh, I think it can be equally applied to Cornell. “His command of colour was magnificent. He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty. Pain is easy to portray, but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world - no-one had ever done it before, perhaps no-one ever will again. To my mind that strange wild man who roamed the fields of Provence was not only the world’s greatest artist, but also one of the greatest men who ever lived.”

I will never forget the gut punch feeling in 2017 when I read that Chris Cornell was gone. I spent so much time listening to Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog and Audioslave that it felt like I lost someone close. Knowing that I won't get to hear any new material from him was devastating. Left me feeling hollow. The same way I felt when Layne Staley died. Both were a part of me in my young adult life.
