Poppy is a case study all by herself...I like your reaction. Bad Omens is one of my favorites. This song musically is fundamentally different for Omens. They are using more synth. Breaking new ground for themselves. Your video popped up outta nowhere. So now you have me as a subscriber. Ive been tempted to post this and similar posts like Charismatic Voice ( On the same artists ) on X but most of my followers do not like this type of music. This is a first having seen a post that delves into the mental aspects of a song. Very cool. I love your energy. I wish you well in all your endeavors... ✌😎

I kinda get more of a vibe it’s not about 1 thing, but about everything self destructive that humans do/take part in, humans are pretty damn good at being destructive towards themselves, others, nature, and our planet. Yet we keep going while barely managing any of the issues, not to be all depressing ofc lol just sayin when I listen to it I get the feeling it’s referring to a quite lot not really 1 exact thing, love the video btw❤️

Poppy has a way about her that makes you sit up and pay attention and she has had mine for these last six years. I had an addiction to tobacco and have been free of it nearly 10 years and I am glad to be done with it. Poppy is complex and has covered a lot of ground in the 12 years she has been putting out music and some it really cores into the psyche and makes you think-thinking is the key and Poppy lets you know that. I enjoyed your point of view with regards to this video and it's meaning. Poppy rocks!!!

I think there are so many meanings behind the lyrics, looking into Poppy's personal history, I think that this is a nod towards her feelings about titanic Sinclair "creating" her, then her escaping & being the best form of herself no matter the law suits, slander & bullsh*t that has come from him. And she is continuing to KILL IT. He was also allegedly abusive....

IIRC Poppy was Svengali'd by a predatory producer who goes by the stage name Titanic Sinclair. Her whole stage persona was his creation. She's the thing he created that hates him - because he's an abuser. While still together they were sued by an ex girlfriend of his who said he'd made Poppy into a clone of her. The case was thrown out because you can't steal a non-copyrighted fictional identity, but it shows the degree of malign influence he had. Since breaking free of him Poppy's changed her whole musical style, and a lot of her material is essentially excoriating Sinclair.

Not all of us even know the concept of "running" from addiction. I've been addicted to substances for almost 30 years. I wish I could rewire my brain. I've been through all the programming and prison systems and everything available. I'm at my wits end. I just don't know what the fuck to do anymore.
@HeartSupport19 күн бұрын
From HI_ImHappy: @drsavage3262 You're right, I don't know what it's like to run from addiction. I can't imagine what it's like; the inability to escape, the constant need, yet hate makes it extremely hard to break the cycle. I don't think there is much I can offer you, but there are people out there who can help you immensely better than I can. It does seem like you want to get better and heal, and you need to hold on to that hope of getting clean and maintaining it, and that hope will drive you. Seeking people out who are in a similar spot could also potentially help; having that support system who is a good influence and who will have your back can help much more than you may think. I wish you the best of luck on your recovery journey, you got this.

I think this is a parallel about Poppy trying to break her shell and get out of the bad relationship she was in with Titanic Sinclair and the image of herself that he created as his pet project. “I am poppy, I am poppy, I am poppy..” Where she was addicted to the fame he created but where she was simply his puppet. This is Poppy, becoming the real Poppy, the natural Poppy. She was feeding the violence against nature. “Picture-perfect image, more powerful every minutе Baby, I am everything that you're not “ “I can erase everything thing that you know, I am death and I am not alone.”
@theodorebear67147 ай бұрын
I think this is correct. She had to go though so much and trauma has an effect on her psyche and her art. If I was a close friend of hers I would be so proud of her for her strength and her earnesty in her expression in her art of how traumatic it can be when others are trying to control you.
@aaronhisminiatures6129Ай бұрын
YES!!! dig below the surface in her lyrics (majority of her later songs for sure) and it scratches as the trauma she experienced. I'm so glad someone else understands this ❤

That's a pretty neat interpretation. Generally, I've been interpreting the meaning of the title through the lens of technology reflecting, refracting, distorting, codifying, then amplifying the seeds of overly simplistic bad ideas into an all-powerful panopticon that comes to engulf and consume all of society into a self-extincting dxxth spiral singularity of dependence (including various forms of addxction), but I like to keep things light & wholesome.

*No.* You have an infatuation with such a simple subject. That being substance abuse and addiction. "Violence against nature" is a condemnation of unnatural human behavior and hubris of people who feel entitled to create and corrupt humanity for their own unnatural purposes. The creation of a person who pollutes and wastes is a violent and unnatural act that is agaisnt nature. Look at the abuse of A.I. Artificial intelligence isn't natural like a tree and yet humanity felt entitled to create it when A.I. so dangerous we can't even imagine what it could become. Poppy has a pattern in her artwork where she criticizes industrial trends especially in the music industry. She's a brilliant woman and I can't allow her to be reduced to the idea of substance abuse. Poppy has dealt with horrible things in her life much worse than the personal mistakes of substance abuse.
