It's staged to show that one can use tape to get a car window down. I don't know if it actually works or not, but this puppy was not saved. It was never in danger to begin with.

Before he puts tape on the window, there is already white adhesive residue on the rubber trim of the window. - this indicates previous attempts. Second thing, the tape roles in on itself and is receding into the card. This is someone lowering the window from the inside. You can open a window like that but will need to use something like duct take that has more strength against pulling force and strong adhesive
