Do I iron it on leaving the carrier sheet on the project?
@Expressionsvinyls2 жыл бұрын
The carrier sheet remains on until it is applied to the project. Check your product directions for removing the carrier sheet. Some can be peeled hot and some require a cold peel.

Thanks for the basics! It would be awesome to do a "post care" video. I have been struggling for months with keeping my heat transfer long lasting, and no amount of research and technique seem to be helping.
@Expressionsvinyls7 жыл бұрын
Great idea!! We recommend washing inside out on cold and hang dry. Who has time for hang dry?! Just turn down the temp on your drying to low or med. and you should be fine. Dryer sheets and fabric softeners can affect the wear of the vinyl. Use them sparingly. Also avoid any detergents with bleach.

Is this something you can do on a different material than t-shirt - such as a sleep mask? (I think it's that fake silky material). I'm trying to customize some!
@Expressionsvinyls5 жыл бұрын
We have put HTV on sleeping masks, you will want to use a multi use sheet to protect the mask from the heat. We would suggest doing a test one before making a lot, you can lower the temp to 285 and press for 5-10 seconds

What do I do if I have a new machine and even using the right setting, (iron on) it not only cuts the vinyl, but also the carrier sheet?
@Expressionsvinyls4 жыл бұрын
You will want to do a test cut and move your dial down until it's only cutting the vinyl.
@epicplayz71114 жыл бұрын
I am new for this please tell me how I can start the same and what are material we need and machine please tell me in detail thanks for this
@Expressionsvinyls4 жыл бұрын
You will want an electronic die cut machine, a computer to download the software for it, and then vinyl to cut in the machine.

If you HTV is colored on both sides how do you Peel the vinyl I'm having trouble I've printed on both sides & nothing is working. Please Help me.
@Expressionsvinyls4 жыл бұрын
If you take one of the corners of the vinyl and peel it you should see one side clear and the other side the color. On HTV the clear side will be sticky. If you have vinyl where it's sticky on the color side then it is most likely adhesive vinyl. Let us know if you have any additional questions.

The Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) that we carry has its own carrier sheet, you will not need to purchase it separately.

What happens if you do not have the carrier sheet? How do you apply it to your item?
@Expressionsvinyls7 жыл бұрын
If you do not have the carrier sheet you can still place your images on the shirt or whatever you are ironing it on to. You would want to make sure you have something to protect it from the iron or heat press though like multi use paper or a heat transfer cover sheet - here is a link to those - expressionsvinyl.com/tools-accessories/heat-presses-and-pillows/ All of the Heat Transfer Vinyl (Iron On Vinyl) that we carry will have a carrier sheet on it. You can find it here - expressionsvinyl.com/heat-transfer-vinyl/

Is heat transfer vinyl the same as iron on vinyl?

Is the vinyl still useful if i cut shiny side up?
@Expressionsvinyls4 жыл бұрын
If it did not cut through the carrier sheet, the vinyl is most likely ok. If it did, the cut section may no longer be useable.

I am trying to print an image (photo from my phone) and adhere it to a collapsible koozie. Could you guide me to what I should use? I need printable iron-on vinyl and wonder what type I should use? Also, do I have to have transfer tape that is heat oriented? Or do I even need transfer tape at all? Sorry for all the questions. I am brand new to all of this and this is my first real project. Thanks.
@Expressionsvinyls6 жыл бұрын
Hi, we only carry the Silhouette brand printable heat transfer vinyl. Here is a link to it. expressionsvinyl.com/printable-heat-transfer-material-for-light-fabrics/ Everything that you would need to print and then adhere to the koozie is included with it. There isn't anything additional. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Hi, there are 2 different types of vinyl. One is adhesive and that will have a paper backing. The heat transfer vinyl has the clear carrier sheet. Here is a link to the 2 different types. Adhesive - expressionsvinyl.com/adhesive-craft-vinyl/ Heat Transfer - expressionsvinyl.com/heat-transfer-vinyl/ Here is a link to a video where we cover the basics of adhesive vinyl - kzbin.info?o=U&video_id=RBOG1evnle4 Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

I have a problem with the vinyl bubbling when I am ironing. It gets really hard and crinkly.
@Expressionsvinyls7 жыл бұрын
If your vinyl is bubbling when applying your iron is too hot. It shouldn't get hard or crinkly. Those are all signs of too much heat.
