Today I am working on 2 small EDC fixed blades. They are made from O1 Tool Steel.

I really like the smaller EDC fixed blade. Thanks for taking us along for the heat treatment process and for showing us your handiwork. 👍🔥🔪

I have 2 knives, so you will have to choose which one you want. I'll make a video when the handles are on. I am shooting for next weekend.

Thanks! We are all knife nuts and it shows in different ways! For me it is making and using my own gear. I just find it strangely satisfying!

That secondary blade can have a lot of uses. For example, its a great capture point, say for making feather-sticks. The stick would nestle right in there. Great work. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

The knife is fantastic! I sharpened it up today and played around carving up some sticks. It's just phenomenal with the extra edge, curve, and point. Still needs a handle, that will be coming up this weekend.

I think he will like my version of the knife! It should preform better than the "real thing".

It was a nasty storm and it came up quick! It seems like storms have been getting worse this year.

I've often thought that the "battoning" thing was way over emphasized for a bush craft knife. I believe I'd rather have a knife that's sharp and stays sharp. Having to resharpen in the field doesn't sound like too much fun to me.
@LastChanceKnivesАй бұрын
Battoning is way overdone on youtube. If you build a knife to be a good wood splitter it will not be very slicy. I don't like sacrificing cutting ability and prefer knives with thin grinds. It takes a thick grind to make a wedge that splits good. Two totally different things. Besides it's not needed that often except for crafts.
