To highlight the importance of staying safe during the summer season and spreading awareness of extreme heat, Governor Katie Hobbs has proclaimed Arizona Heat Awareness Week from May 6 to May 10. Arizona Heat Awareness Week is a chance to learn how to protect yourself and others from the Arizona heat and sun when spending time outdoors.
Dr. Eugene Livar, Chief Heat Officer at the Arizona Department of Health Services, and Maren Mahoney, Director of the Governor’s Office of Resiliency, joined more than a dozen key partners across the state to share information and safety messages in a news conference on May 3.
