this is something no one ever talks about. the refs ruined so many good games in the old era with their constant enforcement of the "rules" or what they as humans percieve the rules to be.

People who think that perimeter defense isn’t played today because of the handcheck rule… They clearly don’t watch the OKC Thunder.
@Herosennin11 күн бұрын
To be fair man, thats especially on the young GOAT Sam Prestie. In this era you CAN play solid perimeter and paint D, but you'll need a literal juggernaut squad of defensive talent to do so. I mean, Shae, Dort, J Dub, Hartenstein, Caruso, Wallace, Holmgrem, Wiggins, Jaylin Williams, I'm not sure if I have ever seen that much defensive talent on one team that are virtually all in the top 10 of their position in defense and I already thought the Celtics were insane on this aspect. Maybe the 80's Celtics, 00's Celtics and and 80's and 00's Pistons had somewhat comparable defensive talent but thats really it, but realistically, nah I havent seen a team this deep in defensive talent. The Rockets especially with Thompson who has the potential to become a top 10 defender of all time in the middle arent slouches either. I'd say it's not a good look that teams have to be extremely deep with some of the best defenders in the league to be able to play solid D you know?

SGA is amazing and is a candidate for MVP because someone has to be second......If it were not for Nikola Joker there would not really be a conversation.....but Joker is far and above every other player in the NBA and has been for years....how Joker is able to outperform his previous records and do things never done by any player (leader in PPG, REB, AST, and STLS and top 2 or 3 in PPG, REB and AST) - did not start or play much his first few seasons....and still the fastest player in NBA History to reach 15k Pts, 7.5k Rebounds and 5k Assists in just 709 games. Bird played an additional 2000 minutes more than Joker his first few seasons and Joker still smoked Birds record of accomplishing it in 799 games. OKC smoked Cleveland last night with SGA mostly on the bench. Jokers on/off numbers are so absurd (VALUE) that Denver goes from 1st to LAST when he is On/Off. If not for Joker SGA would be a shoe in for MVP. Alas, the NBA is in the USA and the media and pundits and critics and unskilled commentators as well as prejudice and other lessor human traits greatly distort reality to fit alternative narratives that Joker is not the most valuable player in the NBA when Joker clearly is.

Jokic is much more valuable to his team? A bit of a stretch, no? As long as Shai keeps consistent, he's got the MVP in the bag! 👍🏻
@barryjackson1312 күн бұрын
Space Jam reach. You either have some weird Bias toward Europeans or you don’t watch basketball. OKC has both the starting and backup center out with injury. Chet Williams hasn’t played a game this year. Jalen Williams is a 6’5 shooting guard starting at Center. They are the number one team in the west and they have the best defense in the NBA. They just beat the best team in the league by 20+ last night. Shai is far and away the reason for that success. The nuggets are a play-in team with a fully healthy roster.
@PatoNani1812 күн бұрын
Not really, Shai IS the reason why OKC is the better team this season than Nuggets with Joker.
@cancelcancel661312 күн бұрын
@ look at all of OKC's players stats (especially the efficiency and plus minus) since both of the centers got injured. All the players are playing well, why? Mainly because of their system. It's the system and their defense that is winning the games. While Denver on the other hand is all about Jokic, Nuggets ain't the same team anymore after some of their players left after they won the Championship. Mike Malone's system isn't effective anymore, and the sole reason they're still a "contender" is because of Jokic by himself (Murray isn't the same after the injury).
@cancelcancel661312 күн бұрын
@barryjackson13 you kinda just proved my point, Jokic teammates are terrible, he's the only one showing up and carrying them every game, some of his teammates like Murray might get a good game every once in a while (rarely). While all of OKC's players, not just Shai, is consistent, offense or defense. Shai = Better teammates and coach system. Jokic = Much more valuable for his team

Shai is shooting 8 ft’s a game. That’s lower than the MVP seasons of: Embiid, both of Giannis’s, KD, Russ, Harden, all 4 of Bron’s, Kobe, Dirk, A.I., and 3 of MJ’s. Your European bias is showing.
