RVP had it , but it was cut short by , guess what -*poor managment.* Auba was there but sold. *Without a true Goalscorer like Mbappe* _all_ the recent PL winning teams have had, We stand little/no chance. Liverpool have Salah *and had* Mane + Firmino. Leicester even had 24+ goal Vardy. I mean, what's a burnt out Saka going to do - and he doesn't even directly take on defenders!! I was thinking about Reiss Nelson for a bit. I remember that he came into the first team when Pepe and Willian were absolutely useless for us, he was still very young at a time but he played very good starting every game for about half a season. Then Mikel Arteta dropped him, didn't give him any minutes and then loaned him out. Same thing happened with Maitland Niles, Emi Martinez, ESR is now on that trajectory, we could've given Balogun a go as a backup striker too and Ramsdale is all but gone despite oustanding performances. I am yet to see Mikel Arteta develop a player. Saka and Martinelli were brought up into the first team by Unai Emery and Saliba developed in France.

I somewhat agree with Northside in that we have quite lucky and scraped through many games this season that could quite easily have gone the other way. I totally disagree with Bhavss in that it's a couple of minor holes that need fixing. This club was built for quick ball movement and and quick players breaking through their lines at pace against a disorginised defence that isn't setup yet. To fix this Arteta needs to go back to what these players do best. Quick progressive passes from Saliba White Zinchenko and Partey when he gets back. These passes between the lines need to get to Saka and Martinelli at speed with face to goal enabling them to take on the defenders isolated 1 on 1. The question is will Arteta's ego allow him to do this. At this point I'm not sure he will do it. If Arteta doesn't change the system from this slow buildup ball control system I can see us losing a lot more points and we win nothing and there is a good chance we don't qualify for Champions league. As for buying players in this window I don't think we have any FFP room to do it. I can see us getting a LB on loan but not much more. Why a LB instead of a striker, I got a bad feeling that Zinchenkos injury is not good and is going to miss a large chunck of games.

Northside is bang on! The financial management at this club is scandalous. The amount of mediocre players we have paid serious money for is beyond belief. Arteta has wasted at least 250 million on players that are average at best and that no one else wants to buy when he suddenly realises how bad they are, hence our piss poor revenue from moving players on.
