Amazing that Sasha was a part of the rebuilding line up on 2004 post Shaq era and thrived until their championship years. His best ever moment in LAL is these 2 FT on the dying seconds of Game 7 vs the hated Celtics in 2010. 2 rings playing with Kobe is his living the NBA dream haha the Machine!

Wow. I never thought I'd see a video on this rivalry. I'm a Suns fan so I've been a fan of Dragic since day 1! Watching his battles against Vujacic were always really entertaining! Great video man!

As a Slovenian I can confirm that our media and people didn't like Vujačič. He was talked about and we all knew he was a good player but he just didn't get respect. He had his reasons for refusing invitations in national team. I've read he had bad experience on his first year with national team regarding bad logistics... He fell out of the roster before the tournament, though.

Both are grreat players, although I think Dragić is a bit better. Biggest difference is in their character. Vuječić never played for Slovenian team because of his character. He didn't see it "profitable" enough. He set quite a list of demands. They invited him, regardless and he came to the team's training campus and he was usually late for practice, demanded special treatment and he simply didn't get along with other players, he probably thought he was better than others, he wasn't a team player. That's why they didn't call him again. Truthfully, he is too cocky and arrogant for my liking. Dragić is much different. He put a lot of effort in our national team and wvs pivotal in Slovenian victory in 2017 and he announced his retirement from national team due to his age, injuries and obligations in the NBA, but he joined the team for Eurobasket this year, regardless. Besides, he is a very modest and nice person. BTW, I've met him and talked to him once and I can confirm that.

No one beats Sasha in that couple years : 1. Earn millions $$$$ 2. Watch Lakers game in the first row. 3. After the nightly entertainment, go home and laid Sharapova.

Great video! The beef definitely originates from the Slovenian national team but it started before, at youth level, which is why you haven't found any records of it. In 2002, Vujačić was a starter on the Slovenia U-18 squad and played well at the U-18 Eurobasket where Slovenia finished second (if I remember correctly, losing closely to Croatia in the finals). The next big youth competition was the 2004 U-20 Eurobasket. Saša Vujačić should have been one of the stars of this very talented Slovenia team, but decided he was too good to play at youth level (so they say, I was not there so I can only echo what I have heard) as he was already drafted to the NBA by the time the U-20 Eurobasket would have started. This was obviously not received well by his teammates. To rub salt into the wound for Vujačić, Slovenia went on to win the 2004 U-20 Eurobasket and Dragić was part of the team. In fact, 7-8 players from this U-20 Slovenia roster went on to play for the men's national team for the next 8-10 years, which is why Vujačić never felt welcome joining the Slovenian national team ever again.

I understand the patriotism his fellow countrymen had for participating on the team but one must understand he had just been drafted by an NBA team. I wonder if higher powers were protecting their interests.

What he means it’s a story for another day? Lol it’s simple , they don’t want to risk or feel the olympics ain’t worth the risk of a injury or future injury especially when they’re in the best and highest paying basketball league in the world

Here is one for you ... Dragić vs Dončić ... Yes they are like brothers off the court ... but on it all that is forgotten as it should be. Look at them play against eachoter ... It's emotional and full of action, they both bring the best out of eachoter ... :) I would not call it beef . but they both play thair hearts out when pinned against eachoter. Edit: In my honest opinion Vujacić seen Slovenias National team as "not on my level" ... Due to this , In slovenia People Like Dragić and Dončić have basicly God status , meanwhile there is hard to find a person who would show any kind of respect or admiaration for Vujačić ... :) Basicly he is like Melania ... :)
