Man orchestrated his team well and reads the game very well. Great 10.

To be honest, I didn't think he was that talkative. Maybe that was all that was left after the bad language was edited out. Always amuses me the amount of times the commentators spend apologising for the swearing picked up on the ref mic. Might have been better to use a nine driving his pack around the field as the player with the mic. They are usually gobby little buggers. To be honest, casual spectators underestimate the amount of comms that goes on on a rugby field.

i know MLR refs are pretty bad, but if he had shouted like that at a premiership ref it would cost him a dose of reality and 10 yards all day. probably frusatration at the poor quality in that league for a pro player used to better.

I spend a lot of time watching Rugby games in both codes. I don’t think the MLR refs are any better or worse than any other leagues. Sure professionalism is in its infancy here compared to other comps. There’s so much interpretation to the laws in Union. I’ve heard friends bitch and moan about the refs in this past 6 Nations. We both agree that the back chat should be prohibited.

As far as I’m aware the captain talks to the ref not the fly half Unless he is captain And talk to a ref like that in Europe or South Africa or any other place. That’s a penalty and easily 10 metres

Even a card added to that since there's zero tolerance for back chat in rugby
