in my opinion, Wes Craven wrote Nancy's death as sort of announcing his definitive depature from the series until he came back on board for Nightmare 7. Nancy may not had been back in Part 4 anyway, or we the fans may not had liked Nancy's involvement, or how her character may had been written had she been back for any of the other sequels. Wes once said Nancy died to make way for the future heroines of the Nightmare series.

I still bummed out that Elm Street series killed Nancy, but, but, I understand, Elm Street paved the way for a new series and new heroism for other characters. So that being said, Nancy dies (sort of, kind of Nightmare 7 lol). Nancy dies, Alice lives.

Johnny did make a cameo in Freddy's Dead, and Craven said that Depp would've done a cameo in New Nightmare if he was asked. But Patricia Arquette seemingly wanted nothing to do with the series after 3.

Heather Langenkamp perhaps was selective in her roles but I always thought she was the best example of what should be popular versus a lot of what is. She is underrated and for me, most of the Elm street films were forgettable. The ones she was in were good. The remake of NOES from 2010 was dreadful. Since the upcoming Halloween has Jamie Lee Curtis, then NOES should get the same treatment with Heather Langenkamp, Johnny Depp and John Saxon.

"It was before the days before sequels"? It was actually right in the thick of the "days of sequels". In 1987 there were 6 Friday the 13th movies, 4 Rocky movies, 4 Jaws movies, 4 Dirty Harry movies, 4 Star Trek movies, 4 Superman movies, 3 Halloween movies, 3 Star Wars movies, 3 A Nightmare on Elm Street movies (even though the first ANOES movie was made only 3 years prior), and so on.

What the hell is she talking about? Haven’t horror movies in general been doing that for decades? Killing off the main star pretty quickly in the sequel? Rachel in halloween 5 comes to mind and that goes back to the 80s. Unless it’s Laurie strode or Sydney cambell which has become redundant. I don’t get how there’s a new scream with another new killer so that’s what 7 or 8 killers .. all with a crazy vendetta against Sydney spending the next two hours going around and killing everyone but Sydney before a final show down where Sydney shoots him.
