How do you guys find these hikes? They aren't in any of my scramble guides.

I can't speak for others, but way back in my mountain trekking days, I sometimes found interesting obscure places by studying the surrounding landscape with binoculars from a good viewpoint. Possible destinations often were evident. I talked to other hikers and climbers who might have gone there, consulted any applicable guidebooks, perused detailed topo maps of the area, examined photos if there were any, and then sallied forth. Sometimes I made it to the spot. Other times I was stymied by the customary impediments like hidden bluffs, impenetrable brush, or terrain that exceeded my scrambling skills. Whatever the result, I look back fondly on those treks. This channel helps relive those halcyon days.
